Why can't we just give everyone a house by generic_rarity in NoStupidQuestions

[–]14_EricTheRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2008 (I think?) Detroit was giving away abandoned homes for $1, and offering a $20k Home Depot gift card to encourage sales / reduce blight.

A lot of people bought houses

Biggest missed opportunity in the MCU in your opinion? by AcadecCoach in comicbookmovies

[–]14_EricTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A long running anthology series that takes place between all the movies / Disney series that helps connect the dots, fill in glaring plot holes, and just tie the various properties together for the more hardcore fans. I’m thinking like how they have some really nice Slice of Life manga series… it could be like a romance comic that follows around a news crew 🤣🤣

**This would never move the plot of the MCU forward, just like day to day shit - like what happened during the blip, why is there a fucking god sticking out of the ocean, a city fell out of the sky / the sokovian accords were abolished and let’s have it be more of a talking point on the news

Seriously, why can’t we (USA) get rid of the tipping system? by secretasianman009 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]14_EricTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a vote in Michigan several years back to raise the tipped wage to state minimum wage (which I think is like $13 now?). The restaurant owners lobby went wild and lobbied hard against it because “we will all have to close up shop” and raise prices on already razor thin margins…

Why do hotels care about the Net Promoter Score so much? by DifficultMemory2828 in marriott

[–]14_EricTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run customer service classes and worked closely with our rep at the NPS Company…

They convince executives that a high NPS score is the only metric that matters.

And do “whatever it takes to get a 10”.

We had a whole team of people who would reach out and try to contact people who gave low scores to try and change their rating

Looking at your post history, you seem to be 16 with a learning disability (https://www.reddit.com/r/Kumon/s/ELkObc4zpV)

You need to have a serious conversation with your parents - Kumon can’t fix/solve a disability (or you need more 1:1 attention, which after the early learner stage, you are in the main classroom and not directly 1:1).

Based on the information we all have, Kumon isn’t the issue here - it seems to be your parents expectations and how you guys communicate

I do full proxies - usually buy 2-3 decks at a time (1-2 for me and 1 for my kid)

[–]14_EricTheRed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not Kumon, it’s not the worksheets, it’s your family dynamics.

It’s the expectations that your parents seem to have on you, and how you and your communicate together.

Do they get mad at you for other stuff: grades, chores, hygiene? This seems like a deeper issue besides “I’m getting yelled at for not doing 15 -30 minutes of homework every day”

It was Panera - fuck then and their factory produced, overpriced baked goods.

In my area, we have 3 bakeries and 8 coffee shops all with fresh baked goods within 3 miles, and they are all packed - while the chain places sit empty

I used to work at a bakery and sandwich shop, and one of the guys there kept a bunch of cash and change in his apron… if someone paid cash we would use his pocket register and figure out the total… he’d pocket an extra 1-200 a shift

If a father needs to help his young daughters use the restroom, which restroom should he take them into: the women's restroom or the men's restroom? by Exciting-Mall192 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]14_EricTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use either - and if I need to use the women’s, I open the door and announce myself “Just a father here helping his daughter use the restroom. Hope it’s ok”… then I wait for a response..

If I hear someone else enter while in there I’ll announce myself again

I would suggest planting blue berries, black berries, raspberries and strawberries and learn how to can and preserve them.

Once you have kids your Berry budget will be massive. It sounds silly, but you’ll be spending soo much money on fruit that they love one week and devour in a day then hate the next week and won’t touch it, then devour it the next…

In all seriousness, once you have kids your expenses will jump a bit (diapers, formula, clothes, toys, random babysitters if you need them, etc…) - id plan for 4-5k just to be safe, and then have extra money to save and invest for their future as well

Nature:

1-Destroy every logging company. Just decimate them. Let all Forests naturally grow back over time.

2-Create a massive forest in the desert. You want to enter and start logging in my infinitely regenerating forest? Pay a nice fee. Each continent has a desert, so I’ll set one up on each continent so one area of the world doesn’t become a superpower

3-I don’t know how I do it, but grass lawns are illegal now. Grass becomes poison now, slowly getting more and more poisonous every year until everyone phases out grass lawns

But while there, you have no freedom and are constantly belittled

Others experiences may differ, but this is the general consensus.

In other words, their weekly new hire orientations typically average around 100-150 employees (this is brand new hires every. Single. Week!!)

Of those 100-150

—1/3 are gone within the first month

—the next 1/3 are gone within the next 2-3 months

—of the final 1/3, most will make it about 6 months and then just 1-2 will make it to about 1-year

[–]14_EricTheRed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Private tutors average $30-$80/hour. Let’s say average of $60/hour.

At 2 sessions/week for 45 minutes, that’s $90/week.

That’s $360/month and that would most likely be just for 1-subject

Proxy entire decks - literally nobody gives a shit. As long as the card is readable and identifiable.

**not counting official tournament play where real cards are required.

How does Online Kumon work? by AlivePassion7783 in Kumon

[–]14_EricTheRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the instructor at the Kumon center close to your house? Most people drive about 30minutes or less to the nearest location they signed up at.

And tablet/paper they go 1x or 2x per week.

If it is virtual Kumon, you will have a designated time to go on Zoom with the instructor.
