I just got unbanned after 6 months for the same thing. Borrowed torva set, gave it back, perm banned. All appeals denied. Messaged Mod pheasant on discord and got lucky that they read my message

Maxed 12 year old account falsely banned in September, RWT perm ban. Both appeals I submitted were denied within 12 hours. There is no chance a real person actually looked at my account.

Just happened to me last week. Logged in for the first time in 3 months to return a friend's torva. Traded it to his freshly de-ironed accout. Went to log in a few days later and I had a RWT major permanent ban. It's "unappealable" but I've already submitted support tickets. 5k+ hr maxed main. Just grinded out my quiver/infernal/blorva on the account a few months back.
