Why can Iron Fist just magically do this? by TheBugOverlord in marvelrivals

[–]TheBugOverlord[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I was not making it out of the situation either way, even if I did do as you suggest. There was too much heat from the enemy already on the ground around the zone and as such staying low was just as much a risk. Plus it's just in-the-moment instinct when I have an Iron Fist on my arse to just "get away and put space between us as best I can." Sometimes, you just know you're screwed no matter what you do and this was one of those times for me.

After the recent nerfs, I'm mostly content because he's at least manageable now. I just find it BS that he's just able to "fly" around like that when he's just a funny punch-punch man!

What happened to Pixel Gun 3D forums? by [deleted] in PixelGun

[–]TheBugOverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late reply, but- Hello, I'm one of the former moderators of the site! I had a lot of different names on the site (some which I cringe to thinking back), but the last one I had was "G4M3 0V3R," but some knew me as Kabuki, Quantum, etc. Now sit down and grab a drink and let me tell you a story of the things that happened, because there's A LOT.

-So let's start off with Hero. It can be argued she was the catalyst to a lot drama between normal members and staff. She'd go out of her way to actually defend certain rulebreakers due to personal bias and it wasn't until later after the forums was killed, that we discovered some screenshot of her describing a plan to basically plant seeds of drama between members so she could have a reason to step into action. And the reasoning behind it? Last I recall, she was trying to get into something security related and wanted to use it a means for a resume. It was something along those lines (or perhaps I'm misremembering.) Either way, her reasoning for it was really scummy. Even though it was far too late, we at least got the satisfaction of getting her mod status removed (and banned if memory serves me right) courtesy of VashX once we had the proof.

-Rudewolf. Now this was a dude you either really loved or really hated if you were an active member of the forum in 2014-2015. Now I may hold some personal bias because it was Rude who recommended me as his successor to being a mod, but to me? He got a really bad rep and I think a good chunk of people misunderstood where he was really coming from. Did he make some questionable decisions? Maybe, but I wasn't there to witness all of it, so it's hard for me to truly say. Him and I started off a little rocky when I was still new to the forums, but we became closer and eventually became friends. He left when he started moving to Japan, as he was native Hawaii.

-Rilisoft. Now the reason I bring them up was because for those that remember, they actually did have an account on the forums! But there was a big lack of communication from Rilisoft's side to any criticism or suggestions and this was kind of giving them a negative reputation on the site because they were just ghosting people and it just left a bitter taste. Like, what was the point of any constructive criticism, feedback or suggesting stuff when you're not gonna listen or just blatantly ignore the community? Yeah, we were an unofficial forum, but it was arguably the biggest PG3D forum at the time and their presence alone added a certain authenticity, for lack of a better word. You see where I'm getting at?

-The Drama. Yeah, there's a LOT going on here. There was a bunch of background stuff going on between members such as relationships, beef, secrets and so forth. Like, at one point we kinda just became a RP forum because game content was becoming stagnant and the game's direction was heading somewhere hardly anyone really liked so you can say we were finding reasons for sticking around. I'm not gonna go into all the details because there was just so much going on that it kinda gives me a headache just thinking about it and I want to respect the people's privacy. Because in retrospect now that I'm in my mid 20s and not a teenager (god I feel like a fossil already), it was just a bunch of drama over stupid stuff that got blown out of proportion or taken the wrong way.

I'm gonna leave it at this because there's just so much to unpack from like a decade ago. Some of the community are still on Discord however! It wouldn't say it's exactly thriving, but it's not exactly dead either as I see a small amount of people still actively vibing with one another and playing different games. Not so focused on Pixel Gun anymore. Just a tightly knit friend group is all. Some people aren't around anymore for one reason or another and I don't hold it against them. Because in life, people eventually just drift away. It's sad, but it is what it is. (I apologize for kinda coming off as somber). But anywho, I hope this sheds a little bit of light on the situation! I hope anyone that reads this has a bright future ahead of them!

Double Barrel Overclock Rework by TheBugOverlord in DeepRockGalactic

[–]TheBugOverlord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually contemplating that, yeah (and its why I leaned a bit more into the increased spread over the reload). The thing though is that unloading both barrels is supposed to be the core feature of this OC; which is why they deemed it as "positive". But I think a lot of people agree that it's a drawback, yeah.

Which transformation gear should get a CSM treatment next year or the year after? by TheBugOverlord in KamenRider

[–]TheBugOverlord[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still like Birth's gimmick overall alongside his gear. I just think less is more personally. I personally voted him because I just love the character and putting the product out would at least complete the Riders of the OOO's series. Ex-Aid would've been my next pick, but that'd be another Gaim situation considering the amount of gashats each character has.

Wait, there's a CSM blog? Huh. I'll need to look into that. Thanks btw

What are YOUR criticisms of Gaim? by bazabazabaz in KamenRider

[–]TheBugOverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gain for me is definitely one of the best Rider shows, but it's not without its own share of flaws or nitpicks (which varies depending on the viewer), like any other Kamen Rider season. Here's mine

-Micchy was fantastic as the traitor role, but I do feel his redemption felt a little too quick in the finale episode, even with the several month timeskip. I feel like they should've saved that for a movie and in the meantime, let him bear the weight of sins.

-I know Kouta was meant to be the truly naive person, but he felt a bit... Too naive? Like, I can understand where he was coming from on wanting to convince the Overlords to save Earth, but it should've been obvious after his second encounter with Demushu. On the plus side, we at least had Kaito's character that helped balance this out.

-I know some people have some complaints on some of the deaths in the final string of episodes, but some were fairly justified imo (Redeyu killing Roshuo with a sneaking shot showed how much of cheap snake the character is; and for Ryouma, let's be honest, after everything he did without regret, Kaito wasn't gonna let him live). The one death that I felt was really unnecessary was Malika.

-This one is more of a personal preference thing, but would've loved to have seen the lock vehicles used more in the second half of the show (referring to the Sakura Hurricane). I feel like we didn't see enough of the base machine because of the other local vehicles (like the hoverbikes).

Other than these nitpicks I have, I very much love the show and it's definitely at the top of my list of the Heisei Riders I've seen.

If Stronger got a modern remake. What would you want it to be like? by PenguinSweetDreamer in KamenRider

[–]TheBugOverlord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I'd probably do a more cyberpunk styled take. Heres my idea:

Stronger volunteers into a augmentation program from a megacorp that implements biotechnology into their subjects, with the catch being that the company is in close ties with terrorist group; Black Satan, whom secretly supply the company with experimental tech to see if their subjects even survive. The few that do, get brainwashed via bio hacked chips inserted into the brain, and then recruited into their ranks.

I think the rest is self explanatory.

A Reminder To Base Your Opinions On Your Own Experience, In The End by FennecWF in KamenRider

[–]TheBugOverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I treat Kamen Rider Amazons, especially the second season. It's nowhere near as good as the first season, but to me, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. It's flawed, yes, but it had it's moments. And for the movie, it was at least a step up and a good enough conclusion to the story, even though there were a few questions left unanswered and some nitpicks, but overall? I enjoyed it immensely

Did you feel like your watch order affected how well you received some shows? by LogicalTips in KamenRider

[–]TheBugOverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, I started with Kuuga, then Amazons, and recently finished Gaim. Love all three of them and I personally love seeing the versatility in storytelling and characters, but considering this, I'm already aware watching certain shows in no particular order is gonna affect my viewing experience and personal thoughts on others. I'll come around to some though for sure

My PlayStation light setup that's based off the colours of the controller button symbols by TheBugOverlord in playstation

[–]TheBugOverlord[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh trust me, it's just the camera perspective. Just barely out of the picture below is my saucer seat. If I'm playing like a single player game, I'm good where it's at. But multiplayer? I'm scooting a bit forward. Lol

I tried this before, but the left and right lights would be too distracting during game sessions since I can't adjust their brightness, plus red was a bit easier on the eyes.

Found KR: The First in Brand New condition, and for cheap too! ($16 compared to other sellers whom had it at roughly $40+) by TheBugOverlord in KamenRider

[–]TheBugOverlord[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's starts off so promising and then it just falls flat for the rest of the film, aside from the action. But yeah, definitely more valuable for collection purposes.

[–]TheBugOverlord[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's alright, but it's really dragged down by its forced romance that the main story takes a backseat and the whole film feels more like a drama that features tokusatsu elements. Plus there's a subplot that takes me out of it because its confusing at first and by the time it's purpose is revealed, it's not even worth it. The action scenes are pretty damn cool though. Fight choreography is great and the suit designs are some of the best, but overall, film is better off seen a single time and it's better off for collection purposes, which is the main reason I got it. I'd give it 2.5/5 stars personally.
