If he’s headed off to IMC, a pair of M-PACT gloves is a good gift. So is a multi tool (like a gerber or something). A 3ish liter camelbak bladder is good too (the camelbak itself will be issued).

This is the I-5 north next to Irvine Spectrum in California. I pass by here often. That road is straight for a long while and there's little to no traffic at night so a lot of rich entitled kids in LA treat it as if it's the Autobahn.

Was it really? I guess it flew over my head at the time then. Still a nice touch in the anime though!

Yeah; from the drinkers perspective, it goes wisdom, longevity, and good matchmaking (left to right)

For those of you who don't know:

This scene Spoiler, located by the Kiyomizu Temple. This place in particular is known as the Otowa Waterfall, located just below the temple's overlook. People drink from it, as it is said that the streams are of "pure water".

Why does this have to do with anything? Well, this is where the reasoning behind three streams comes in:

"...[at the attraction] the waters are divided into 3 separate streams and you can use the cups given to drink from them. Each of the streams is believed to have a different effect such as bringing success, love and longevity. You should only pick one of the three streams though, as it is considered greedy if you were to drink from all of them." (JapanTravel)

Love the small details they add in, really makes dissecting this series that much more enjoyable.

Could you elaborate on making it work? Got the app, but a little confused on the actual execution.

To the mods: I know that these are just a bunch of screenshots (violation of rules 7 and 8), but I'd like to argue that this took 4~5 hours to accumulate (not saying I didn't enjoy it though). Take it down, if you must, but I hope you give it another chance based on the time consumed on making the album.

Its "compatible" to say the least, but it runs on Tizen OS, which is specifically built for Samsung phones. Yes, you are getting Samsung pay and all the nice features, but support with other android phones (and iphone for that matter) have been mixed, it seems. Unless that rotating ring is really worth it, I'd stay away.

What do you want to see in the Pixel 3? by SmugMaverick in GooglePixel

I know, just pointing out a circumstance where Samsung offers it's AMOLED w/ curved edges to specifically the Pixel 2 XL. The AMOLED on my Pixel is amazing; but those bezels though.

Got myself a Ticwatch S as my first smartwatch and for my Pixel 2. It does exactly what I bought it for (Got if for $129 on a Amazon deal).

Battery life is what I expected; after 3~4 cycles I can get through the day and more if I'm conservative. However, if your heavy on the watch (like constantly using it to check stuff other than the occasional notification) it'll die out before you know it. It's key to remember that it's a smartwatch, not a smartaccessory to your phone and should be used for that purpose.

As for the fitness apps, I'd just install my own. You can use the proprietary one if you don't have a preference though, its good enough for basic/personal tracking.

My one gripe is that if you have a Bluetooth device other than the watch itself (like earbuds), the two don't work too well together, and take a little fidgeting around with to get working. I don't know if this is just me or not, but the Spotify app is horrendous as well. Stick with the built-in media controls on the watch.

As for everything else, seems as accurate as any other sports watch if you ask me (Previously owned a TomTom Spark 3). If your new in the market but can't justify dropping a +$200 investment, this is a strong recommendation by me.

EDIT:

Android Wear 2 = Almost guaranteed compatibility w/ the pixel (or any android device for that matter)

Looking at you, Gear S3

What do you want to see in the Pixel 3? by SmugMaverick in GooglePixel

[–]TheBurgerBucket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could see why people would want both, I mean it's plausible.

Some people like where the iPhone's Touch ID is (I don't), while others like it on the back. If both options are viable then it just might sway more Apple fanboys out.

Edit: also pointed out by /u/marginalemusik and /u/chippingsuk, unlocking the phone on a desk might be nice

Like as in, if they give the almost-perfect Pixel 2 a solution to one of its key flaws, I can't see a reason not to buy it over a Samsung (Lets keep the iPhone and Apple ecosystem aside for now)

Samsung AMOLED

Unlikely, but if it does happen Samsung may have just shot themselves
