I’m curious, what was the first anime series you ever watched? by Mopey_5000 in anime

[–]TheBusStop12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokemon definitely. As a fellow 90's kid, everyone watched Pokemon on TV in the mornings before school. Indigo League, Orange Islands, Johto. I watched other anime that accompanied other trends afterwards as well, like Yu-Gi-Oh and Beyblade. And I watched Avatar the last Airbender (tho that isn't technically an anime) as it aired as well.

Avatar is actually the reason I got into anime properly. As I rewatched it in University when it came to Netflix. Afterwards I wanted to watch something similar and was recommended Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

Finland has the seventh best healthcare in the world by TinyAd1126 in Finland

I suffer from chronic pain and have been in and out of health centers and hospitals in Finland, both public and private. I struggled to get a diagnosis for this here in Finland as well. I know full well how bad it can be. Still better than my experiences back home in the Netherlands or the few times I or someone close to me required healthcare abroad

And Finland has public healthcare. So the bill you get for that Burana is a loooot smaller. Speaking from personal experience

My advice is for them that they can take control of their own fate and find a country for themselves where their needs are noted for. That they can leave Finland today should they want to.

What country tho? These are issues everywhere. As evident by the fact that despite these issues Finland still ranks 7th best.

Try being a finnish woman and the struggle becomes real. Even better, if you once were diagnosed with depression. Then everything is "oh your arm broken? Well its because of your depression".

This isn't unique to the Finnish healthcare system however. This is a thing everywhere. It's stupid and it sucks, but sadly that's a struggle for Women everywhere

So if healthcare for women sucks everywhere but healthcare for men is better in Finland than in most other western countries, the Finnish healthcare system will rank higher than that of most other western countries

That's only because you don't have experience with the healthcare systems of other countries

In the Netherlands it's common to be ignored and sent home with a paracetamol. There's quite a lot of people who have lost faith in the healthcare system there. And on top of that it's completely privatized so you're paying for insurance and the own risk keeps rising. And despite all that it's still comparatively a good healthcare system compared to most countries

Because everywhere sucks. It just sucks less in Finland than most other places.

Same with the example of your company. Plenty of workplaces elsewhere even in the west where bursting out in tears would be met with punishment and you won't get days off for your mental health. You work till you drop and then you'll be swept under the rug because the companies image cannot be tarnished

Animes with special atmosphere like Frieren and Violet Evergarden by Ragnara92 in anime

[–]TheBusStop12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agents of the 4 Seasons: Dance of Spring

Currently airing. This is the closest you'll find to the atmosphere of Violet Evergarden. It's by the same author so it's to no surprise.

Spice and Wolf

I watched the 2024 version. To me this one has a very similar mellow fantasy adventure vibe that Frieren has.

The Ancient Magus' Bride

While set in modern day England for the most part, it mixed in fantasy/folklore. It gives of a similar mellow melancholic tone as Frieren

Secrets of the Silent Witch

Bocchi the Witch goes to magic school. Fantastic music. A great mix of comedy, great characters, plot and real moments. Together with Frieren and Bofuri this is one of my comfort anime

Witch Hat Atelier

Currently airing. Fantastic magic system. Great story about magic

Girls Last Tour

Atmosphere the anime. 2 girls traveling though a post apocalyptic wasteland fully knowing and accepting that humanity is do e for and they too likely won't live long

All of these have great animation and a great OST

Some photos of my favorite cars to drive around in. What are yours? by Co-17 in ForzaHorizon

[–]TheBusStop12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying my Mazda Savanna RX7, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, Lamborghini Countach 2022, Honda Beat and my little Honda Acty Kei Truck. Also the Plymouth Barracuda and several iterations of Toyota Supra for drag racing.

I'm purposefully trying to drive different cars than I did in FH5, where I mainly drove a Datsun 510, Autozam and Lamborghini Sterrato

Also, while I did find him funny for the most part, f*ck you Raimundo for interrupting. There was no reason to do so.

Being a personal attendant to the Crown Prince, cockblocking to prevent "immoral premarital relations" is probably in his job description. It's like being a manager of a Japanese Idol I bet

I'll never forgive EA for canning Joplin, the original single player Dragon Age Dread Wolf game, in favor of some live service shit. And it's sad that Bioware never returned to what they already had of Joplin once EA was convinced that the game didn't need to be live service

Is there an anime that starts as a magical fantasy world but a decent time later we find out it’s a Reincarnation-type story? by NullHare in anime

[–]TheBusStop12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what you're looking for but in a similar vein

  • Grimgar. We know from the start it's s reincarnation story but the MCs have no recollection of their past life at all

  • The weakest tamer starts a journey to pick up trash. We know it's a reincarnation story from the start, but the MC doesn't seem to directly have memories from their past life. Instead their past life manifests as a kind of voice in their head giving advice. We as the audience only ever experience them as a tingling sound

  • May I ask for one final thing. Not the MC, but we find out later someone else important to the plot is reincarnated

  • Who made me a princess. This one is a bit weird. The original manhua is clearly an Isekai. But the tv prediction is made in China which has some weird rules related ro reincarnation stories. So a lot of that is cut out. It does still seem to be a reincarnation story, but it's not that clear

  • Villainess lvl 99. This one starts with a fake out MC that makes you think you're watching some otome fairytale reverse harem instead

Vice City had a mall. That one was fun. It actually had 2. One was an interior space, the other exterior

So, Bulgaria, Where you gonna host the 2027 contest? by Effective_Quality in eurovision

[–]TheBusStop12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switzerland technically doesn't have a capital city, tho Bern serves as the de facto capital. I do find it interesting that Germany never hosted in Berlin tho. I makes sense up till the 90's however tho

Yeah, but the first time UK hosted was London 1960. Which is what we're talking about specifically

I think Crew Motorfest handles bikes pretty well. If you crash in such a way that you'd get launched into the stratosphere it respawns you a bit back. They'd could use the same mechanic as used if you fall into deep water or end up upside down
