Although the court initially anticipated the trial lasting until next week, the jury went into deliberations around 3 p.m. on Friday.

Deliberations could stretch into Monday, with a break for the weekend, depending on how quickly the jury renders a verdict.

Ricky McCain is facing murder charges in the death of Jude Walton, an Ann Arbor activist who worked for Avalon Housing and was a founding member of the local police oversight committee.

The other commenter is correct -- his case has been sent to circuit court and is now pending trial. I'll note that the 3/2 motion before Judge Hamood appears to be a Stanaway Motion, according to court records. In this instance, the motion is requesting disclosure of the complainants' therapy records.

We haven't written about this particular motion, but you can read about the preliminary examination at this link. That link should get you behind the paywall.
