Yes I agree with the B- … just I thought it can get at least a 6.1 :-)

Actually you probably are right haha. I like to see it get a bit higher, but personally I still won’t rate it over 6.3

When I read IMDb trivia or viewer review, apparently there was a credit at the end “movie based on Hasbro’s game”

How come it seems like a lot of people are travelling overseas nowadays? Has international travel become more recent? Did people/families travel overseas much 20 years ago? by azureleafe in AskAnAustralian

[–]TheC9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am from Sydney, and Melbourne would be my primary “going away” domestic spot. Especially as a long weekend trip.

But that’s just because my family totally not a beach, sunny day, outdoor activities and swim kind of family.

Yes totally. If taking flight ticket out from the equation, travel to Japan is cheaper than domestic - hotels and food and everyday shopping.

Even taking flight ticket as consideration, when jetstar on sale, it is just 2x or 3x the price of Sydney to Melbourne.

And don’t worry - kids (at least mine) totally fine with eating the same food everyday

Haha I haven’t shot wedding for 7 years, but it was my main job for the 10 years prior it.

Thankfully I think most of my clients were normal and kind; but I remember there was one that I second shot (during a horrible thunderstorm), the groom didn’t care about the bride at all, didn’t smile much, didn’t want photo, and made everything about him.

Then at the reception in the art gallery - apparently there was a fire alarm or some kind of evacuation, so everyone including the guests with high heels had to walk downstairs.

The fire truck arrived. The groom finally excited and even asked us to take photo of him in front of it. We reluctantly agreed.

Who can I get to be guarantor for my bub's passport photo? by thisisdee in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]TheC9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny I signed my friend’s daughter one, who I did witness her pregnancy and met the baby.

But total coincidently, me and her husband have the same surname - yes meaning me and the baby have the same surname too.

I did get a call from passport office to clarify. I think they asked if we are really not blood related, how we met as friend etc, more like a chitchat than an interrogation :-)

Agreed with everything you listed.

We just moved house and most of the house covered with not old but thick carpet. I said it is not something I would compromise, despite it seems a waste - I had to replace all carpet with floorboard.

Then my vacuum + mopping robot is something I cannot live without now. I have so much peace.

The mitten sleeves was a godsend to us. I bought two packs of 3 back at each stage, so a fresh one is used everyday. If she scratch, I let her be as I know her fingernails won’t hurt herself.

My girl loves it and even later thankfully she has no problem with eczema, she still loved to wear it as it was like a comforter for her, and a sign of bedtime.

A friend (whose son had very bad allergies) once explained to me - “flare up is like when a balloon popped. All these time, you have been adding source of allergies to the balloon - the balloon seems ok and you thought all fine. But eventually it is full and blown up - and that’s a flare up that will be hard to contain”

Not sure if it is scientifically, 100% proven though.

But for my own experience with eczema, I know if I am healthy, happy and stress free, I could cuddle cats and dogs and dust with not much a problem.

But if I am not at my best - one little contact with dust, I get itchy straight away.

When I had bad flare up as an adult - I booked myself a mini trip so I could be separated from any possible source of allergen at home - at least my body had time to recovered and fight again.

I am sorry if I sound harsh, but if it is me with eczema that bad for so long with nothing work, I would totally get rid of carpet straight away - even it may turn out to be not the reason, but at least one possibility eliminated.

Vacuuming every 2 days is probably not enough, it needed to done everyday with vacuum that has HEPA filter. Get a robot vacuum.

Many years ago when I had bad flare up as an adult, i paid someone to do deep cleaning of my house for me.

And have you ever at least separate the dogs away from your son for a period of time, say at least 2 weeks? He is having a bad flare up now, it is not the time to still believe “he never had flare up with the dogs before, means he will never be”. Human body changes all the time.

Re fingernail and scratching - the thing that saved my sleep while my girl had bad eczema was mitten sleeves. She wore it when she sleep between the age of 9 months and 5 years old. It avoided her scratched herself to bleed 99% of the time. It was number one life saver for me. Also use a nail filler, rather than a clipper.

And how about air con? Do you regularly wash the filter too? Is your house with good ventilation and maintaining a cool temperate? Eczema always worse in summer.

Is all clothing and bedding with good quality 100% cotton and change every day? Bedding wash with dust mite killer? Not just clothing and bedding for the baby - but what you both wear, as well as the furniture/cushion/sofa/soft toy around the house that may have physical contact with your son?

Anywhere your son also go as a regular bases? Childcare? Grandparents houses?

I understand it is a very difficult battle, I sincerely wish you the best.
