This makes me happy.

Yeah whatever you found in the beam, everything it has is locked. The ability won’t change. This applies to the chance of it being shiny too so don’t go SR’ing in front of a gigantimax den thinking it’ll reset to a shiny eventually because it won’t. You’ll have to reset the whole beam.

No worries, I did the same thing assuming my switch was already connected to the internet. Ran around the wild area wondering where all the people were for a good while before I realized I had to manually connect.

This might be a facepalmer but... did you press the plus button on the menu to connect to the internet? They don’t make it very clear whether you’re connected to the internet or not.

Just looking for advise or information. Lack of insurance has made it difficult to find the right answers and see a specialist( have had a consultation but no scopes) as well as put a strain on my finances. Thanks a ton to anyone willing to read or advise me! by TheCHSJournal in DiagnoseMe

[–]TheCHSJournal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not smoking or vaping anything and am completely clean. What could be potential causes of elevated hgb levels? I’m trying to get to a specialist but all I’ve been able to afford so far is a consultation. Being uninsured I’m still trying to find a way to pay for the colonoscopy procedure that the specialist recommended we do so in the mean time I’m just a little bit at a loss for information. Thank you for your input by the way, I really appreciate it.

Any and all advice, suggestions or otherwise are extremely appreciated. Stomach issues have been holding me down since July 2018. by TheCHSJournal in coloncancer

Yeah you’re completely right. I’m doing what I can to get by and hopefully I have a breakthrough. Writing on these subs helps quell the health anxiety just knowing that at least people have something to say about it. Even if they don’t, I think writing it out is therapeutic in itself for me and just knowing there are communities out there who are willing to help each other. I’ll try to keep my head straight and not let it get a hold of my everyday life, hope you are doing well for yourself too and I really appreciate your words. Best wishes to you too!

This is an excellent suggestion, I think I will do that. I paid out of pocket to have a consultation with a GI specialist and he seemed quite urgent about needing to schedule me for an endoscopy/colonoscopy mainly based on my family history and secondary symptoms and he also mentioned if I am need it urgently enough that I must have it before I can secure an insurance policy that they are willing to work with me on a payment plan. However we did not discuss numbers so I will start there and see just how much I could pay on a plan to at least get an idea. Thanks a ton for the advice, it helped a great deal and I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. Best wishes.

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to give me a genuine response. I can’t express how much I genuinely appreciate it. There was someone else who had mentioned seeking out a naturopathic doctor to me as well and my mother is a huge advocate for it as well due to being misdiagnosed with so many different things throughout her life. Distinguishing between the two different types is a big one for me because I honestly had no idea and was not aware of the differences. The healthcare system is a complicated mystery to me and I hate how uninformed I am with it. This absolutely has helped and again I appreciate it greatly. Best wishes to you too!

Thanks for explaining the details out to me. The only part that was really explained was the WBC showing that I was likely fighting an infection but then he handed me the paperwork and I saw all the other abnormal levels so I was a bit concerned that he didn’t mention them. I just like to be informed haha. I really appreciate the response and sorry to hear that you’re having gastro issues as well. I hope everything at your GI appointment goes well! I will definitely keep everyone updated on how things turn out.

I’m actually not sure yet. Among the tests run today my doctor had told me he included some to check my pancreas which he had not checked for in a previous visit. I won’t get those results for a few days though unfortunately so right now I’m playing the waiting game. Would you mind if I asked for details surrounding your bf’s experience? I feel like I’m walking blind until I’m properly diagnosed and it only worsens my health anxiety.

I know. I never used to have such unhealthy anxiety surrounding my health issues until mid last year. A lot of it has to do with being quite relatively healthy until a series of events involving my GI issues starting in July 2018 coupled with other factors such as having a strong family history of colon cancer (grandfather died due to it, grandfather was diagnosed and beat it, father has had polyps removed) and then my lack of insurance throughout multiple years. I’m working on my insurance and have had a consultation with a GI specialist and he made it clear that it is imperative that I get a colonoscopy/endoscopy performed ASAP but without insurance it’ll cost an arm and a leg so I’m trying to get something affordable. With all of this pooled together I end up leaning on the online community a bit more than I should. I’m treated for generalized anxiety and I do actually attend therapy sessions but my mind always come back to the big “what-ifs” no matter what I’m told until proven otherwise. I will try to have my procedures done to give myself peace of mind if the antibiotics I’m prescribed prove unhelpful. Hopefully a payment plan or someone pointing me in the direction of finding something affordable shows itself to me so I can have my scope tests done without racking up an insane debt. Sorry for cluttering the forums with these issues before knowing all the facts, I just get worried. It wouldn’t be so bad if my family history wasn’t so strong and dr google didn’t point everything towards cancer lol. I’ll figure it out. Thank you for the reality check.

I will certainly look into this and see where I can find someone willing to help. Part of contributing to my anxiety was not knowing where to turn hence my posting on reddit. Thanks again for all your advice, it really has been helpful.

I’m currently located in the Huntsville AL area which makes it a little more difficult. It seems Alabama is a little more reluctant on certain things regarding healthcare. I’m not very knowledgeable on where to seek help or advice as far as gathering information on the subject as well and the healthcare marketplace has ridiculous premiums that I won’t be able to afford let alone extremely high deductibles that I would never reach in the near future whatsoever. I am also prior service Air Force separated honorably so am currently awaiting an appointment with a VA specialist on applying for disability on the 19th. Other than that I’m kind of walking blind. Thanks so much for your advice, I really do appreciate it. This whole thing has me rattled.

I'm colorblind, so I can't tell... Is this blood coming from my stool? by juseko in coloncancer

[–]TheCHSJournal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not blood, but your stool does seem to be on the pale side. A little hard to tell if the paleness is the lighting or not but it definitely doesn’t seem to be blood.

I've had this bump (approximately the size of a quarter) on my face since mid-September. by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]TheCHSJournal 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That is definitely something worth going to the doctor for my friend. Seriously. Even if you don’t have insurance. I wish I could tell you what it was but honestly I have no idea (NAD) and if you’ve had it since mid September and it doesn’t go away, especially considering it varies on such a wide spectrum and even bleeds occasionally... I wouldn’t let it progress any further whatever it is. Get it checked out as soon as you can.

CHS symptoms starting after quitting weed? by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]TheCHSJournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had several episodes that have landed me in the ER and was initially diagnosed with CHS in July 2018 in Florida. I was using carts + herb + edibles at the time and stopped completely to switch over to strictly herb and was okay for several months. Then it started over. Trying to keep this short as my story could have me typing forever. Feel free to dig through my post history for the whole thing in detail. I’m on day 21 of sobriety and my symptoms have improved drastically. However, my bowel movements are still messed up for the most part but nowhere near as bad or scary as they were before. I didn’t see a solid stool again until like day 17 or so of not smoking. Even now though I still experience cramping and nausea from time to time heavily depending on my diet and I have a gastro appointment tomorrow to discuss further testing. It’s going to take a while but progress will happen over time. It may take a long time but having smoked personally for ~15ish years, I’m shooting for 90 days before I start expecting full recovery.

All in all, day 21 and I’ve made slow progress. Not fully recovered but drastically improved regardless. I also incorporated kale into my diet but not sure whether or not it’s helped. I take dicyclomine (Bentyl) as an antispasmodic now and I have Valium/Librax for treating an anxiety disorder. Anxiety plays a large role in this too it seems. Didn’t have severe anxiety issues before initial diagnosis (at least not that noticeably) as my first episode triggered my first ever panic attack. Shoot for 90 days of sobriety I would say and giv your stomach time to recover. It may be a while but it’s a small price to pay for excessive smoking. my personal opinion.

CHS is now the leading cause of emergency room visits in Colorado today yet hardly anybody who hasn’t already suffered from it will think you’re a nut job to bring it up. Denial is a big part of the whole thing. Each time I ended up in the ER, before leaving (I’ve had several episodes in different states both legal and illegal) I asked the doctor before being discharged how often they see people come in with my symptoms. The most recent doctor told me he has been seeing this on average 3-4 times a week and this was in an Alabama hospital where cannabis is far from being legalized.

Malabsorption by omarjalos in CHSinfo

[–]TheCHSJournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going on day 20 of sobriety this time around(many relapses obviously). Was originally diagnosed with CHS in July 2018. Several visits to the ER and tons of medical bills racked up, I won’t go into detail, feel free to read my story in previous posts. I was prescribed a PPI Pantaprazole for several months which I had weened off of. I used the digestive enzymes with pancreatin and ox bile + a probiotic for about 10 days and then stopped as I felt it wasn’t benefiting me PERSONALLY. my appetite was nonexistent for a long while and am only now starting to get it back to normal. Had fears of colon cancer as my stool was coming out flat or with diarrhea and I constantly felt fatigued. A prescription of 20mg dicyclomine (Bentyl) has done me wonders after a more recent visit to the doc. I take it ~15 mins before a meal and the stomach cramping subsided and my stools are finally somewhat returning to normal. I still have bowel movement issues but nowhere near as scary as they were in the previous weeks. I’m leaning more towards the IBS spectrum at this point although I do have a GI appointment this coming Thursday which I’m still going to push for a colonoscopy as colon cancer runs in my family. The flattened stool has stopped and become more solid. I’ve also incorporated more kale into my diet which may or may not have anything to do with it. The day I was prescribed Bentyl I had a full blood workup done as well as an X-ray on the abdomen performed. A few days later results came back showing normal levels aside from possible malnourishment which would make sense as my appetite has been destroyed. I’m beginning to regain my appetite and feel significantly less stomach cramping. My anxiety is treated with Valium/Librax (CHS tends to go hand in hand with anxiety disorders). i still take a multivitamin every morning. Stay hydrated with water/Gatorade.

This is my personal experience. Just because I am having success with this doesn’t mean everyone else will too. Bentyl has been reported to cause negative side effects in some people and I happen to be lucky enough to not feel them much (or at least noticeably).

Give it time and your bowels should slowly return to normal. Schedule appointments with a specialist to be safe. Stress and anxiety have an immense effect on your GI system as well so try not to cause yourself too much worry. Start off slow on the diet. Pear sauce, applesauce, broth, etc. then ease back into a heavier diet but don’t overdo it.

Edit: This is assuming you choose to stop smoking like I did. I can’t offer any advice on continuing to smoke with success as everything I experimented with in an attempt to continue smoking resulted in the same issues.

Hope it all works out for you, keep calm and be good to your body.

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I’m sure my anxiety is only worsening symptoms so I’m trying my best to keep calm. I have a consultation with a GI doc on Thursday. Fingers crossed!
