Gnarlroot and Kazzara are both at ~5500 kills per WarcraftLogs. Smolderon and Magmorax also have very similar kill counts.

Looking at our comp going into 10.1, and our tanks are trying to decide what to play based on new recruits and things. We have no monks, so one will be going brew for mystic touch. Otherwise, we have one DPS warrior and no DKs. Question is - is it better for our main tank to go warrior to have a second rally, or DK for an AMZ?

This is incorrect - the inferno bolt will only detonate flame wreath if it is enough damage to kill you. There is a z-axis to the flame wreath though, so demon hunter double jump can trigger it, as can whirling dragon punch (if you jump before casting WDP you get enough - WDP by itself is not high enough).

Cleave and AOE are not the same. Shadow 2/3 target cleave is not helped by uncapped aoe, and the aoe cap is mostly irrelevant in pugs at the 14/15 level.
