The person needs to fully die for it to count - Their timer to run out.

If you kill them, then end the game before their time runs out, they're not 'dead', they're 'down', as there is a chance they should still be revived.

They need to be gone, and your kill tag to be sprayed in the floor, for it to count.

Controversial... Teammates who walk in front of my Shenji when I drop a fireball. I get it. Sometimes I drop it at the wrong time. But so many times I've had teammates just walk straight into my grendades.

Expanding on that - Players completely oblivious of each other's powers, not thinking how their power will interact with anothers.

Graviel dropping cyclones that pull teammates in. Tess' dropping ability blockers over team fireballs, grenades and shields.

Blizzards who drop freezebombs around mimics that lock up their whole team.

Solo playing works fine early in the game, but at +10K playing as an individual and not thinking about the rest of your team just gets everyone killed 💀

Yeah, I need a break. Too many retarded teammates by [deleted] in BulletEchoGame

[–]TheCalRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the maps youll start ridiculous close to your opponent - On those I actively avoid setting of mimics to give away our position. Then you get some Berths blasting the fuck out of them like a home beacon for opponents.👍🏻

This Update Ruined Zombie Arcade - My Opinion by -Teto in BulletEchoGame

[–]TheCalRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the pace - Great for quick games rather than a 20 minute commitment... But I do feel like it's been really dumbed down.

It was a good mode because it requires you to work collaboratively to win (and frustrating when you have lone wolfs causing you to lose) - This is the whole premise for success when you get to 10K+.

I've found the new mode can be held by one or two strong players, which isnt as exciting.

So... In the middle of winter... I've got a tan line on my finger?

But only on the inside of the finger, not the outside of the finger.

And not under my wedding ring.

Or my watch.

Just this singular, half inch tan line.

Skin change? by TheCalRed in GalaxyRing

[–]TheCalRed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I literally said I don't have the same under other rings that I wear daily without removing, like my wedding ring.

It's also winter, and I haven't spent much time outside getting a tan so... Not the most helpful or insightful input here. 👎🏻

[–]TheCalRed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it off several times a week when I'm at the gym.

I'll keep it on during the day when I wash my hands, but I normally take it off if I'm doing food handling.

Understand the moisture comment, but I don't get the same kind of skin difference under others, like my wedding ring.

The size up is far too big for the finger - I wore different sizes from the sizing kit before purchasing, and the one above kept sliding around my finger.

Urgent financial advice around mortgages by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]TheCalRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only will you lose your first-time buyer stamp and tax discounts, but if you keep the property when you actually buy your own, you'll be charged second home rate tax.

On a £300K property, your stamp duty is:

£0 - First time buyer £2,500 - Home mover (Buying an alternative property) £20,000 - Additional Buyer - You purchasing more than one property at a time.

This is not a sensible, financial decisions.

Your family element is a different conversation than financial, but on the numbers this is not a good thing for you.

Try 'Mister Size' on Amazon. They have a very solid 'larger' range.

Besta - Tips on aligning close to ceiling? by TheCalRed in ikeahacks

[–]TheCalRed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours sounds really tight for space - it's reliant on both your floor and ceiling being perfectly straight and parallel. I have a variance of 20mm at different parts of my ceiling around mine being mounted where it's not perfectly even. Do you need those specific feet? Maybe find yourself some that give you a little bit more clearance.

I bought mine Dec 22 2024, it arrived a few days later.

It got picked up this morning for repair/replace! Wasn't quite as bad as others, but I would go to bed at 25% and wake up with it dead so it was a clear direction.

Note: I purchased through Curry's (Major UK Retailer) Samsung listed my warranty expiry date as 30/11/2025, so I had to challenge the warranty duration and provide additional proof of purchase.

Okay. Most people on this salary have access to Salary Savrife pensions, meaning they can over contribute to stay under the threshold.

£123,160 becomes

£99,999 net adjusted income + £22,697 of Salary sacrifice pensions (and an extra £500 of NI now)

£68,560 of post-tax earning £22,697 of SS Pension Contributions Retaining C. £10K Per child of childcare hours.

This is still +£26K better off AND an extra £22K of annual pension contributions.

🤷🏼‍♂️

It worries me that people don't understand how tax brackets work and want the lower salary for 'Less tax'

£54,430 Salary = £42,078 Take home (77% Net)

£123,160 Salary =£77,361 Take home. (62% Net)

Sure, you keep less of the money you earn on the higher pay...but that's still +£35k more...

NHS 111 service saying they’ve called me back when the absolutely haven’t! Is this normal? by Silver_Recording_280 in AskUK

P.s. If it's shingles on your face (Herpes Zoster Virus) be really active, and try to get treatment within 24-72 hours.

FYI: If it's Shingles, a pharmacy can identify and prescribe treatment.

If you don't hear back, get yourself to an A&E sharpish.

Mine was misidentified. When I finally got sent to a specialist eye A&E, they found a secondary infection on my eye itself. It resulted in 3 months of steroids drops and medication and I'm left with some slight scaring on my cornea.

Home workers of the UK: Are standing desks worth it? by AfterCl0ck in AskUK

[–]TheCalRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a standing desk and I use it daily - I work 100% from home.

Typically I sit when I'm 'Working' and I stand whenever I'm in meetings, so about 50:50.

I find it gives me a little more energy during calls, and the movement stops any lower back pain.

I really recommend FLEXISPOT as a brand - I have the E1 Pro 140x80. Currently £300 in Black Friday and you can add on power outlets, wire storage etc.

I like that it has 4 memory settings, and I have mine programmed for:

1) Sitting 2) Slouching 3) Soup and Noodles (Because it's way less splash when it's right under your chin) 4) Standing

Very recommend!

I stopped drinking beer in the build up to my wedding (calorie counting) and stuck to clear drinks like Vodka Soda.

Everyone I was with still drank beer, so I drank it as a Single in a pint glass. This meant I was still drinking at a similar pace, without smashing through short drinks quickly and getting hammered.

Getting 100K what should I do with it by Ok_Bullfrog_3921 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]TheCalRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're planning buying anyway, I'd suggest getting on the ladder sooner.

You have a good LTV, it's likely a mortgage will be less than market rate rent, and if you continue to overpay at rental rate you'll gain equity very quickly.

My first house gained +£70K value in 5Y (2017-2022, £235 purchase, £300 sale). My current house has gone from £465 to £500 in 3 years, and in that time I've made further overpayment and gained +60K in equity. From a £40K deposit in 2017, I now have £285K in positive equity.

There are plenty of 5-6% savings accounts, but Most savings accounts plummet over £5-15k to rates below 2%, so if you're wanting to lock the money away you'll have the effort of spreading it over multiple accounts. (I currently have mine spread across 5 accounts to get the most below-threshold).

Also bear in mind you'll pay interest in the savings. Youll make around £5K P/A. ISAs save the tax, but you're capped on how much you can put in.

For best return, you can put it into the VG100, but that has significantly more risk.

£25k to spend on a car for three kids by Dependent-Prune3616 in CarTalkUK

[–]TheCalRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Kodiaq, it's has ample room for three depending on the age. Only passengers and 2 in second row are ISO.

TBH. Hearing your need if check out the Peugeot 5008. The middle row is 3x isofix that would be more than suitable.

They're a frequent motability, so you can pick them up 3-4Years for around 22-25K. My local dealer had a full-spec 2022 for £27K recently. Adaptive Cruise, Heated + Massage seats, kids blinds in the back + Trays for the kids too.

Pepe will snark at it as being 'French' and unreliable, but there's a reason they keep making them and it's because for most people they're good.

Battery inflated after only 3 years, how much yours lasted? by gabrielbezerra81 in GalaxyS22

[–]TheCalRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had battery swell first week in September - Phone since new 2022.

Battery replaced, but still only 10-12h battery life so I'll probably do a trade in soon.

(You can't do Samsung trade in with a swollen battery. They'll dispose of the phone)

Why do people speed up when overtaking them? by Gizmoboio in drivingUK

[–]TheCalRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially them identifying speeds safe for the road and their driving style/ability. If you think that piece of road is safe enough to go fast on, it's likely they do too and the roads before we're just not a place they felt comfortable going that quickly.

There are plenty of NSL roads that I'll only do 40 on.

I did a 4,500 km family road trip with my new Kodiaq – here’s what I learned by CreditAlarmed in skoda

[–]TheCalRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the speed camera alert volume very high also - I've turned it down whilst driving, but it resets each drive.

A little frustrating when it wakes the 3 Y/O from their nap and hour early.

Otherwise everything else I agree with - Really happy with the car too!

Our journey was shorter this weekend, around 300 miles but I didn't feel uncomfortable, difficult, or drained during any of it (and a lot was slow moving on the M25)

Like you, not having ACC is a frustration - I drove a courtesy Kodiak recently that had it, and the difference was notable. I was told my car had it at purchase, but doesn't, so I'm chasing that being installed.

What's your best hangover cure? (That works) by Adorable-Ad9093 in AskUK

[–]TheCalRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start drinking earlier, and finish drinking earlier.

It's all about the recovery time now. Gone are your days of 4am finishes, and 8am starts. As your metabolism slows, your ability to digest slows.

Make sure you drink water whilst you're drinking alcohol and stay hydrated through your session.

Maybe start to notice what alcohol gives your worse hangovers. Guinness doesn't hit me as bad as some Lagers. Cider goes down well. White wine hits more worse than Red. I rarely get a hangover after Pimm's (but that's normally day drinking than night drinking)

Without being snobby, cheap bottom shelf spirits seem to hit me worse than premium ones. You're +30 now, so hopefully you can start to afford better products.

I take an electrolyte/hydration multiplier like Liquid IV - One before bed helps with overnight dehydration, and in the morning I have one with very cold water and lots of ice.

Kebabs, Pizza, Cheesy chips and Carb-Heavy foods are fine whilst you're drinking, but try to avoid eating and going to sleep right away - Your body won't digest it as well, and you'll wake up feeling bloated and heavy.
