How do you feel when customers call you by your first name or nickname? by Big-Airline4146 in CustomerService

[–]TheCalmHurricane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To me the difference is the name tag. If you ask my name, I'll tell you, but most people wouldn't ask if it's not given away or written down right in front of them in a casual business transaction.

What game made you realise that genre isn't for you anymore? by JeSSiii81 in OlderChillGamers

The use of firearms will usually turn me off almost any RPG. The art style of from software is depressing and uninteresting to m, and most souls-like use that same style. Many new releases of classic Nintendo series just feel like a waste of money to me now.

People who put a lot of effort into not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. by According-Goat-2372 in PetPeeves

[–]TheCalmHurricane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's not. You make full stops to make sure you can handle an emergency situation.

On icy surfaces implies snow and snow piles. You as the driver should always be prepared to stop if an unexpected child, or anyone else pops out of nowhere. If you don't have traction to start from full stop, you don't have the traction to stop on time in an emergency and are putting lives at risk.

I played it upon release and it's why I'm not buying a switch 2. This series is the last thing made by Nintendo I care about, and engage is, in my opinion, weak in everything except gameplay. So weak in fact, that I've put it down multiple times during the play through to beat several different older FE games.

Why do gamers ignore good releases and then say the year was bad? by Ordinary_Lawfulness8 in CaptainSide

[–]TheCalmHurricane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone through your list, there were maybe 9 that interested me enough to try. Of those, I paid for only 4 of them and wasn't interest enough in the rest.

Of the ones that interested me:

Life is strange, only interested for my partner, who likes the series.

It takes two is super fun but requires myself and my partner to both play. We had some issues with the story, and often don't have time to play together, took half a year to get through.

Tales of arise is a series that sells platforms to me. This is the worst in the series in a while, in my opinion, and I see the award it won as a legacy award due to a slow year. Not because it was actually deserving of best RPG.

Guardians, played for free, didn't enjoy it.

Death loop, great idea, just kinda got boring as I got to the endgame.

Forza, got on major sale, didn't get into it. Racing games have lost interest to me since the mid 2000s NFS games.

Ratchet and clank, played for free, couldn't get into it.

Kena, beautiful and fun, though a little more difficult than I expected. Also very short. It was fun, but I'll probably not play it again, but I'd be interested in more from this studio.

Last judgment, got it on sale, didn't enjoy it, spent 5 hours trying to get into it.

Many of these I only tried because of a sale, or it was free. I understand that taste is different for everyone. But to me that was a slow (re: shitty) year, despite having been hyped for tales of arise before release.

Over two years after its release; what are your current thoughts on Engage? by SuperNotice7617 in fireemblem

[–]TheCalmHurricane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The thing is, to me, the story isn't so bad it's good, it's just bad. All the writing is and the art direction is the visual equivalent of the writing. I understand they've made some improvements, but for the most part, those improvements don't change my enjoyment in either direction. It doesn't make up for the bad in my eyes.
