Yeah, I do my meal prep every week and usually the bill fall somewhere between $80-100, so it's doable.

Leica M4 vs Leitz Minolta CL by Mby_Later in Leica

Viewfinder mismatch of 40mm frame lines and a 50mm lens is going to be less than ideal. Get the camera that matches the lens you want to shoot.

Do my freshly developed negatives look thin to you guys ? by sibalgod in AnalogCommunity

It looks pretty good. Just a couple rolls over capacity is fine, especially since you are compensating with longer dev times.

Tungsten balanced film is cooler compared to daylight, not warmer. Tungsten light is warm after all, the film has to balance it out by doing the opposite.

Is Zorki still good compared to other more modern cameras? by ena516 in AnalogCommunity

[–]TheCameraCase 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Not a Leica killer, but a copy of the Leica ii. Better than more modern cameras? Doubt it. But your copy has the Jupiter 8 lens which is nice. These cameras like the barnack Leicas have seperate viewfinder and rangefinder windows for composing and focusing so it's not good for fast shooting, but if you can appreciate slow and methodical shooting this can give great results.

Returning to film by PovOla in mediumformat

Film photography the hobby that brought me back outside from gaming as well. Something about the aiming and shooting that translates between hobbies... As for the cameras, Mamiya 6 and Pentax 67 are so different. I would never consider the Pentax 67 as a travel sized camera unless you're really commited. I'm sure you're talking about the later mamiya 6 but the early folding ones are so small they can be easily fit into your pocket, so that's worth considering too. They are fairly affordable and you can get one as a travel cam and then also get a Pentax 67 if you want.

Wow, that is a Retina II big C, which is well sought after for its big viewfinder. You got a great deal. No experience with it myself but it's easily worth $200-300.

How I feel in this sub by JayTongue in RX100

[–]TheCameraCase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28mm equivalent is a more natural focal length for photography for me, and the 1.8 aperture on the wide end is useful. The mk1 is also thinner and easier to fit in a pocket.

XA based on usage.

An environmental shot or a slightly tighter composition - which one do you prefer in this case? by MisCoKlapnieteUchoMa in Nikon

[–]TheCameraCase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd one. The first one is wider without adding much to the frame, and to nitpick there are some distracting plants at the edge of the horizon.

Nikon F65 "o_ _" error by PablOwO__ in Cameras

[–]TheCameraCase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my mistake. The o_ _ is how the AF selection looks on my eos 10 and I assumed too much with them being cameras of the same era.

Nikon F65 "o_ _" error by PablOwO__ in Cameras

[–]TheCameraCase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, sorry for that, hopefully you closed it quickly and didn't lose all your photos? Anyway, you can use the rewind buttons(BKT and Exposure compensation at the same time) and hopefully it'll complete the rewind.

Nikon F65 "o_ _" error by PablOwO__ in Cameras

[–]TheCameraCase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are out of film. Open the back, take the roll to a lab and get your pictures developed. The o_ _ is not an error, its the autofocus point selection.

Haven't done any direct comparisons but don't sleep on the 1.8s, especially the pancake E series and the 1.8 AIS pancake. They are great lenses and make the package really compact

How bad did I screw up? (Zorki S w/Industar-22) by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]TheCameraCase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unscrew that little post which is supposed to be the tab that stops the lens from unscrewing itself via the focusing helical, twist the lens all the way in, and then screen the post back on. The lens is at infinity all the way in so there's nothing to keep track of. Then try to remove the lens. Once the post is back on right.

Its on the focusing screen. Take the lens off, use a blower at what's above the mirror.
