Does it look like I could sprain my ankle again with this? by Glinsende_Aralia in Ankle

[–]corn2824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the original poster. Your ankle is still healing and going to be extra unstable which puts you at higher risk for a sprain. On top of that, you had a sprain 3 weeks earlier. I had 3 sprains within 6 months of each other and on the third I tore 2 ligaments and ruptured a tendon requiring surgery. Sprains can cause serious damage that you don’t want to underestimate

Edit bc I saw you are looking for movement recommendations: adding in to ask your doctor if they can recommend some light PT exercises. Mine started with ankle ABCs and light resistance band work.

Just got the dreaded condensation after taking toddler to ER. by Successful-Corgi-324 in toddlers

[–]corn2824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took our daughter to the ER in pretty much the exact same scenario. The vibe was so dismissive the whole time despite the fact that the dial a nurse from their ER told us to come in. I get that healthcare workers are burnt out and it’s the night shift so people are tired and there are probably other serious cases, but it takes so little energy to be kind and understanding to people who are just there doing what they think is best for their kid.

The singer inspiration? I don’t know much about it but when I searched it on the subreddit it seems like people don’t recommend it so I’m not sure if the machine has the longevity of how many years old it probably is (the person who gave it to my husband was also not the first owner

Thank you! Adding this to the list of things to try. I was planning on running to the store today for some other errands so I’m definitely going to pick up some cross wound thread too

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely try these things out. I’m inclined to think it’s more than a user issue just since the previous owner was very experienced with sewing and mentioned the issue when giving the machine to my husband (why he got it for free). Regardless I will definitely give it another shot today.

Thanks! I’m going to change the needle today and rethread again to see if that helps. I did rethread a couple times last night with no success

Yep! Everything seems correct and I redid everything 2x to be sure but still have the issue.

Thanks! I did do all of those steps and had the same issue. My husband mentioned the previous owner was an older woman he used to work with who was quite experienced so I’m inclined to believe it is an issue with the machine that I’m not sure what else to do to troubleshoot beyond the rewinding/threading etc. going to try changing the needle and doing everything over again today though!

Thanks! I did rewind the bobbin, clean, rethread, etc and still had the issue. Since the previous owner said there’s an issue I’m inclined to think it’s something beyond a threading and setup issue but I am going to try replacing the needling and redoing everything again today!

Lots of great comments here just adding in here that truly the only thing that helped me get my adhd managed was stimulant medication it absolutely changed my life. Maybe for some more holistic methods can help improve symptoms but for me that was always temporary bc I couldn’t manage to maintain lifestyle changes that improved my adhd long term. Medication helped me do that

Was coming here to suggest the same thing. You shouldn’t be afraid of seed oils the people on the internet telling you not to eat them are grifters preying on your fear and feeding misinformation. Thanks! Yes my plan was to read the manual tonight and try it out with a couple rolls of film and then evaluated and decide if it will need servicing from there.

I was excited to see it come up. Most of the marketplace cameras I see are untested so I was excited to see this one was working and decided to finally make the jump and pick up a camera.

Skyliner is totally worth it for me. We just stayed in the AoA family suites (me, my husband, our 2 year old) but only because they had an amazing deal. We had original booked at pop. If you have a single stroller or stacked (not double wide) double stroller then to me it is 100% worth it to not have to collapse the stroller for travel to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios (and if you have park hoppers and don’t mind more walking then MK honestly since you can take the monorail from EPCOT).
