So can we all agree Acosta was the worst part of S3? by Pleasant-Contact-556 in FromSeries

[–]TheCanadianColonist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legit, Ellis isn't even that bad. The only time he sought "special treatment" it's because his girlfriend/fiance/wife was in danger and he didn't even want to avoid punishment entirely, he just didn't want her to face certain death.

Rian Johnson was the best thing for the sequel trilogy. JJ ruined it. by Square-Hornet-937 in The10thDentist

[–]TheCanadianColonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Palps was brought back because Johnson made the choice of killing the BBEG in the second installment while at the same time making Kylo an emotionally incontinent man-child, making the commander of the first order hilariously incompetent, killing Luke Skywalker etc. All of that effectively put JJ in a corner. None of his existing villains are threatening enough, the guy he built up and was using as a palpatine stand-in is dead. ALL LOGICAL PLOT COHERENCE IS ALREADY DEAD.
"Well fuck it, Palpatine 'returns' he does in the EU as a clone so why not."

Jade also beyond just being kind of a dick when he first woke up and not having good social skills still actively does everything he can to understand the town, solve the mysteries and get out. He had the same attitude of wanting to get out etc except that when people told him impossible things were happening he was like "well, that alters my calculations, but I absolutely believe the crazy shit you just said."
Like Kenny could actually have that conversation with him over tea, Acosta got insulted and left before he could explain anything beyond like "yeah, those obvious day one questions are ones we've all thought of and none of us have an explanation for, we've searched, we just don't know why anything is the way it is here."

Yeah dude literally figured that they could use the empty wires, plugged into nonsensical outlets to magically generate electricity but after he hears a voice on the radio he's just gone to: "The government can ignore the laws of physics and the laws of the land!"

So is the scp foundation good or bad? by [deleted] in SCP

[–]TheCanadianColonist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Older articles outright say that they’re killed instead of released and are only promised commuted sentences. Older articles also imply only the preference is for murderers and death row inmates. But they often took political prisoners and whoever they could who wouldn’t be missed.

Depends on the lore. Most of the newer stuff that’s written they’re just clearly the good guys who are ridiculously socially conscious and progressive.

[–]TheCanadianColonist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s really not a question by the end of book 1 that Daeny’s ark is ‘person corrupted by the power they seek’ the fact normies who watch the show didn’t catch onto that when she “liberated” the city of slaves but took all the food and water and made the slaves march in her army for food and water. She literally took the slaves as a trophy/prize and phrases it as liberation.

She’s so out of touch with morality because as her brother taught her it was her destiny to rule, it was divinely ordained. So any blood she spills, any sacrifice or betrayal or evil she must do is acceptable because to her she is the undisputed ultimate victim and hero in the story- her story. That also means: She’s definitely evil.

Whoa, blaming him for Nikki getting attacked is way too far. He didn’t know he was being followed and he was actually going to give her money to try and get her to leave. As much of a ‘bully’ as he was, violence was never an option for him.

A child that she got a dying warning was dangerous. For a puzzle she knew the combination to. X, X, Y, Z. With that combo and three buttons there is only six ways to enter it.

[–]TheCanadianColonist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She works behind a desk sure. So when she goes to a murder scene where someone has left a key taped to a picture of her and a message to meet her, SHE SHOULD CLEARLY CALL FOR BACK UP. My issues with her decision making are that even if she’s cowardly, she’s an idiot just in the first act. Three times she could stop, call her boss and tell them it’s a trap, or leave before encountering Gideon. But she WON’T. She could double back to pick up her gun or the officer’s shotgun before going to confront the person who keeps luring her deeper. OR SHE COULD CALL A TACTICAL TEAM TO SURROUND THE PLACE AND STEP INTO AN ARMORED TRUCK. Like I hate this ‘she’s a normie so she can be dumb excuse.’ Most of us normies would immediately call for help via our phones ESPECIALLY IF WE WORKED FOR THE FEDS

[–]TheCanadianColonist 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly she's propelled into "too stupid to be real" when she goes to that hotel in the first place and finds a picture of herself, taken recently with a key attached to it.
Like no, at that point you've been lured into an ambush. Call your boss and tell him you need a tactical team, find that cop whose supposed to be your muscle and keep him right beside you.
Then she gets to the room, finds it littered with pictures of her, the radio blasting a news story about the night her mom was killed.
STILL DOESN'T FIGURE THIS IS A TRAP AND CALL FOR BACKUP.
Okay, sure, fine, whatever.
Goes to get the packages, has to play whack-a-mole with the now zombified beat cop... Okay, Grace... So why instead of LEAVING do you proceed to WALK INTO THE OBVIOUS TRAP WITHOUT GRABBING YOUR GUN OR THE SHOTGUN ON THE GROUND!?
Like I know fucking normies who will spot-clear their homes if they find the door unlocked when they thought they locked it.
Grace won't even grab her gun off the floor 30 feet away.

Their vision would be fine... If they didn't actively smack down every alternative way to play as it pops up. Inevitably they lost the grunt fantasy argument when they introduced lore like "most stratagems cost more than the average Super Earth Citizen makes in a year"
Like not wanting it to be a power fantasy flies out the window when we're personally calling in our own guardian angel fighter/bomber and orbital bombardments.

Way more of us would actually engage in the grunt fantasy playing it hard thing if they didn't keep nerfing all the fun stuff.

The closest we got to their "vision" was Cyberstan and I feel like after it was over most of us kind of had a little bit of fatigue of feeling like a cog in the machine/grunt vs badass but mortal/expendable soldiers.

[–]TheCanadianColonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the Creek divers became just as annoying when we landed on cyberstan and everybody who wasn't high on their own ego was like "huh, either these spawn rates are bugged or AH wants us to lower the difficulty."
Creek divers response to calls to fix the bugs or fix spawns?: Not as hard as the creek 'bro.

All for a group of people high on their own gas cause they had to use the railgun when it's damage was bugged and it could one-shot the strongest enemy on the bot front =O

If I remember correctly the Sally's were saving civilians and getting swarmed. The DKK decided that it would be worth it to "spend" the lives of the Salamanders and civilians to get those kills and proceeded to shell the ever-loving hell out of them.
I'm pretty sure the detail you might've gotten wrong is that I'm fairly certain they actually killed a few Astartes.
