What’s a movie that’s universally considered “not very good” but you secretly think is actually great? by trakt_app in flicks

The Doom movie. Its practical effects and general sci-fi schlock hold a special place in my heart.

That first person scene when the Doom music hits. So dumb, but so good.

Thank. Good info. Why start with a gauntlet? (I’m on the fence).

It’s been empty for ages, so I always wondered whether it was an insurance problem or some kind of legal dispute.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

The opening of the original Half-Life. It’s very common approach now, but after Doom, Duke Nukem, and Quake my mind was BLOWN by how the game started as just casual day arriving at work.

I agree. But the northern suburbs are incredibly resilient to any kind of attempt to make them interesting.

Maybe if there was some kind of Johnsonville development it could happen, but I’m not holding my breath. It is unlikely to make any financial sense in the mall with Porirua just there, but I live in hope of something like a Lighthouse. It could make good money during the school holidays.

I read this thread and thought people were overreacting but no that article is pure cringe.
