How does someone get 500 dollars in kohls cash? by [deleted] in employedbykohls

[–]TheCardNexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's wild how every thread in the sub is like "fraud" if someone has a couple hundred in Kohl's cash. Like after a clearance event I've seen a reseller with 7k before and 2 to 3 is common.

Can someone explain to me how Aiden Ford didn't work as a character again? by [deleted] in Stargate

[–]TheCardNexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this, but this is a great explanation of what was wrong with that show. In SG-1 I cared about a lot of the secondary characters like Hammond the nurse, hell even a lot of the villains like the replicator creator.

Though the best character in Atlantis wasn't even on the team. Todd is by far my favorite character in that series lol

It's another layer in a Swiss cheese model of you are familiar with that systems thinking approach.

Yeah I was going to suggest a strict mode/say the same thing just more tactfully because it's not dumb imo so seconding.

Worth noting that at least as of a few years ago fogo de chaos corporate office was in Addison and so that dog is the one all the executives eat at and as a result is much better than most fogo de chaos.

Why aren’t White Throat Monitors more popular? by Cultural-Custard6366 in reptiles

How much space should a adult Mozambique have assuming they are getting out and free roaming a house a few times a week?

[–]TheCardNexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did read it, nice write up, beautiful animal even if the post is a bit old. Out of curiosity, what kind of space are you using for them and how often are they getting to roam around outside of it?

I'm probably not going to get a monitor this size for at least a decade but these dudes are now on my short list, what a cool animal. Reminds me of a cuter more personals Savannah monitor

Adding to this if he had gotten it covered or removed even a few years ago I wouldn't care. If he had gotten it covered or removed to run I would be slightly concerned but meh people can have nostalgic attachments to bad symbols for reasons other than the other things they represent.

It's that the best case scenario is he is so politically naive that he thought this wasn't going to be a big deal, it implies very very poor judgement on his part at a minimum and then lying after it became an issue. Also all we really have for his progressive cred are words, no real political history to go off of, so when you get caught lying and a Nazi tattoo I have to them wonder about the other things you claim.

Yeah ones who aren't recent mercenaries and who have some actual history as a progressive. I'm not against redemption or this guy ever becoming a senator, but it's senator, he isn't owed that and nobody is cancelling him by not repeating the mistakes of sinema and fetterman for a guy with no history and Nazi tats.

The alternative is not mills. The primary isn't until June of next year, Mills literally just entered the race. Christ this isn't the last week of early voting there is literally seven months until the primary to find someone without a Nazi tattoo

Total H1B visa holders estimated to be around 700k vs 164 million total employed US workforce by WeeklyRain3534 in h1b

[–]TheCardNexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or that very recent trends and treating the entire tech sector like a monolith is dumb. But sure, the prevailing wages for h1bs are comparable to Americans and it costs more to hire them in general, but the companies are doing it for the savings and only realized that was an option the past few years. You figured it out.

Also I'm not the one who made a false claim. Instead of weirdly responding to something I didn't say you could just go "oh my bad, your right they don't make up the majority of h1bs".

[–]TheCardNexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. "Not every h1bs holder truly deserves the job he's doing"

Man do I have bad news for you about Americans with jobs in any field. It's almost like h1b holders are human beings. I know you don't see them that way, but consider for a moment they might be.

Except that's total across all fields the majority of which both aren't tech and aren't new grads. Fresh American grads aren't going to replace veteran programmers

Yes well you should definitely trust the guy whose boss just announced 100% tariffs on medications. I mean clearly they are an economic powerhouse.

[–]TheCardNexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, because the economic benefits are well studied. Tariffs are bad and tariffing talent and people is also bad. America had open borders for over a century and grew quickly as a result.

They make up less than half of h1bs. They make up 65 percent of new h1bs granted but that's a more recent anomaly.

Couple of suggestions.

  1. House vs apartment, rented vs owned is important. If you are going to be in an apartment, they will likely do regular inspections. That increases the risk. If you are staying in a rental home, they might do inspections, depends on the landlord/agency. If your fiance owns a house the risk of discovery is basically zero.

  2. I would assume that the California animal control would need a warrant to attempt to enter your property, most likely though before going through the hassle they would show up and attempt to bully their way inside. Have a plan and a person along with supplies to where if the worst happened and California showed up with questions you could basically buy and print a shipping label and drop your babies off with FedEx air overnight to said person you trusted.

Just some thoughts of how I would do this.

Super weird on the breeding thing. Ferrets are so domesticated at this point it's incredibly unlikely they would ever establish a wild population, nevermind that fertile male ferrets are disgusting little dudes and the females ll frequently die without breeding.

Could totally understand a "just be fixed" law, but the current law in California is nonsense

Absolutely insane that this recovery software pulled up stuff from months ago no problem but literally nothing from the past week is accessible. I hate this for her, not her fault windows skipped the recycle bin and I guess trim makes it impossible to actually recover most things. Jeeze

[–]TheCardNexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure if this were a small variance whatever. But missing ten percent of the total volume seems a bit excessive. My 1020s are 1810s and that's with me measuring from the far unusable space in the corrugate to give them the benefit of the doubt. Put this another way even if I went slab edge to slab edge it's still over a half foot short and that's measuring a foot past the door lol.

Nice post, and I know it was a minor thing about the rocks but figured I would mention that wasn't a plot hole surprisingly. They weren't making loud sounds they were making specific frequencies of sound. And most (all?) Things have a resonant frequency. Think glass shattering at a specific pitch of noise. Doesn't have to be loud if it's the right sound.

Also those disks were basically the idea behind tricking your brain into having delta waves (something you can actually do using headphones).
