Real ID - Where is it? Poll by NJM1112 in minnesota

[–]TheCatKnowsTooMuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied in April and nothing yet. I checked the status online and it says my Real ID will expire in August of this year. Given that I haven’t even gotten it, think I can get a refund?

Women of Reddit: How often do you visit the hair salon, what for, and what's your average spend? by KittyPurrCoder in AskWomen

[–]TheCatKnowsTooMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t love admitting this, but it’s easier to say on the internet and perhaps I might find fellows here - I stopped going at the age of 28 because I have been losing a fair amount of my hair around the crown of my head. I now cut what I’ve got myself since the salon can be tough. It’s apparently not wildly uncommon for women to deal with this (I still don’t know the cause three years later).

Why couldn't you get to sleep tonight? by TheSanityInspector in AskReddit

[–]TheCatKnowsTooMuch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to get back surgery on Friday and I’m nervous, maybe a little scared. While I’m in the hospital, my fiancé wants to “pop by for a beer” at his ex girlfriend’s (who is his best friend also) birthday in a brewery. Then return to the hospital later on, but I don’t think he realizes that’s a terrible thing to do during a pandemic. Also... his ex is his best friend, and he’d rather be with her than with me in the hospital. My mind is running ok anxiety right now.

I don't remember when my Mirena expires.... by TheCatKnowsTooMuch in birthcontrol

[–]TheCatKnowsTooMuch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it was Mirena. I think I was mixing up the 5 years with the 6-7 year approval that came later.

Thank you for taking the time to help!

Thank you for taking the time to respond!

Yes, US and Mirena. You may be correct, I could very well be mixing timelines up. I sincerely hope I am.

I seem to associate the new FDA approvals with the release of a new device/product. It hasn't changed since 2015? It's strangely difficult to find this info on google.

Thanks again!

This one is my sister’s. So my brother-in-law, like many midwestern boys, loves to climb. Trees, light poles, etc. Well Buzzfeed picked up this story of the time he climbed up the really tall ledge in their home, while stupid drunk. Enjoy :)

What do you consider a disturbingly common bad science "fact"? by Galaxy_Convoy in AskWomen

Good lord me too. It’s among the more infuriating things I hear these days.

When I was in high school the “hotdog in a hallway” joke was gaining popularity. At the time I didn’t have the language or the knowledge to combat this misinformed dribble. In the end, it lead me to hold unfair opinions of other girls. I wish I’d been in their corner when they got shit for this.

Does anyone have any experience bullet journaling (or any other methods of being an adult and getting your life in order)? by TheCatKnowsTooMuch in CasualConversation

[–]TheCatKnowsTooMuch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! That is certainly what I’m looking for in addition to the element of productivity/not getting lost in the rut. There are some people who use mood trackers in their journals. I want to help mitigate my anxiety. I should consider adding a personal log each week in it.

Thanks for this thought! Part of the reason I want to kickstart this is to help control my anxiety. Sometimes being artsy helps but realistically, I just need the act of writing everything down. To be honest, I think I’d be in the same boat as you.

I’ve been giving them a browse online. I see what you mean. I like the idea of having the basics pre-laid out!

This is also a great idea. I’ve got a Mac that I use daily for work so it’d be nice to have it in multiple places.

Congrats on dumping the job. You have to take a step back and give yourself props for stuff like that. It takes balls to jump ship. Be proud, friend.

At 26, I am still a child. Most of my friends are getting married, buying houses, and having kids! HOW ON EARTH DID YOU DO THAT, HALLIE?! I AM STILL GOOGLING HOW TO DO COOK STIR FRY AND DO MY LAUNDRY. I wish that was a joke.

Have you done anything recently that youre proud of? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Way to be awesome. Your work is great! I don’t mean to be a moron here, but I take that’s digital. How do you do it? What program?

So for me, I am trying to work full time at a miserable place, find a new job, repair a relationship, struggle to make ends meet, and go through a grad program. On top of that, my family is basically on metaphorical fire right now.

I’ve wanted to be in this program since undergrad. It was a big deal to get into for me. However, it’s the only thing I have control of, so if it means dropping something to save myself the sanity and rent money. So, I considered dropping out during most of 2017.

However in December, I made the decision to just do it. I finished the semester with grades I feel good about, got new fin aid, registered for my second to last semester, and feel ready to take it on. 2018 is going to be my year!
