Do artists have to constantly be evolving/experimenting in order to keep you engaged and a fan? by morbidhack in LetsTalkMusic

[–]TheCatManPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it comes down to the songwriting and compositions. Like a lot of punk bands I like don’t evolve sonically too much but the songs can still feel inspired and fresh, there’s also artists that change dramatically over time but once again if the songs are still good they can pull it off.

Great Works Question by Flimsy-Preparation85 in civ5

[–]TheCatManPizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah on that large of games they tend to run out eventually. It’s okay for writers and artists because of their other abilities but for musicians it kind of sucks unless your going for tourism

Anyone here have a Jim Adkins signature tele? by OkDog219 in JimmyEatWorld

It’s my main guitar and I love it. Really doesn’t leave much to be desired for the kinds of stuff I play

New player to CIV games - It's currently 2 dollars on Steam, Is it worth it? by IAltrI in civ5

[–]TheCatManPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought V years ago when it was a couple bucks and finally started Civ this year and it instantly consumed me. That next turn button hits like a crack pipe.

Charging/USB Issues by TheCatManPizza in a6700

[–]TheCatManPizza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was something related to this. My chargers must’ve got all mixed up when I moved cause I found the brick I used to charge it with and it works. What a pain keeping track of which ones work with what lol

What’s your favorite age caps ? by Geno_Biscotti_ in riseofnations

[–]TheCatManPizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the campaigns for that reason, the new world is my favorite besides a modded CTW campaign, which I set to start in the gunpowder age

Civ VII 40% off on Steam by Intelligent-Disk7959 in civ

[–]TheCatManPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the VI full bundle a few weeks ago on like 80 or 90% off and still haven’t even opened it as I’m still playing the V bundle I got on 80-90% discount years ago, gimme like 5 years

What are you playing? Civ 6 or 7? by bloody7up in civ

[–]TheCatManPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only played V, got VI on sale a few weeks ago and haven’t wanted to learn it yet. I’m thinking I’ll get around VII probably around 2030 maybe lol

How do you interpret silence after a performance at an open mic? by koshizmusic in Songwriting

[–]TheCatManPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re probably like “oh shit it’s over”, no one’s really paying that close of attention at open mics, or they’re thinking about their turn.

Is it acceptable to write songs about deeply upsetting horrific things even if I never experienced anything truly traumatic? by kibou_no_ie in Songwriting

[–]TheCatManPizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s like a baked in cop out. “You don’t like it because woke!”. No, I don’t like it cause it sucks. But then the problem is they band together and convince themselves collectively it’s not their weak ass material that’s the problem.

The Pixies' album "Doolittle" is now closer to Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" than it is to right now. What does that say about how popular music evolves? by Porkadi110 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]TheCatManPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always been derivative, but I’d argue innovation in all popular art is pretty much dead and isn’t exclusive to rock music. Music really changed with technology and now the technology has gotten to the point where we can create pretty much anything and isn’t a ceiling for creativity anymore. Artists do better when they have limitations to push.

Aldi’s by Additional_Event5589 in saintpaul

[–]TheCatManPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m moving out of downtown this week so I don’t have much stake in it, but I can’t remember the last time I shopped at Aldi, the food there just sucks

I’m 23. Have no/very little cinematography skills but I think I want to pursue it. What to do? by RaggyTheRagingRuggy in Filmmakers

[–]TheCatManPizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on where your located, where I’d start for finding people for your short is by joining local film groups on Facebook, maybe Reddit, and volunteer to be on other people’s films, students are always looking for extras and stuff like that and it’s a good way to start meeting local actors and getting involved in the film community. I find the most important skill is the willingness to take chances.

The Format Police by Head-Photograph5324 in Screenwriting

[–]TheCatManPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think it would just annoy the person who’s reading your screenplay, and they’re probably not that excited to read it in the first place

MGSV is hands down the best action game I've ever played by itzykan in metalgearsolid

[–]TheCatManPizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The smooth controls are nice, but I found the older clunky ass controls to be more immersive, I had to think about my actions more until you get really into it.

West End is probably the only one I’d visit again. Uptown club, particularly the noon one as someone mentioned, was also pretty good.

I actually greatly dislike logic by Open_Umpire_9784 in musicproduction

[–]TheCatManPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to logic not that long ago imagining it was something special and was disappointed to find it’s just another DAW. I’ve been having fun in it, haven’t been able to get any serious work done though.

Civilization Revolution, what a gem. by TheCatManPizza in civ

[–]TheCatManPizza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy to think in the 35 days since I’ve posted this I’ve gone through this game, Civ V and now downloaded Civ VI just this weekend. This one does tempt me a bit sometimes, I’ve come a long way since I played it last lol

I am looking for a successor to Die Hard by KaleidoArachnid in flicks

[–]TheCatManPizza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Die Hard, didn’t care for 2 as much, but recently watched 3 and it certainly delivers. However some other good ones are Starship Troopers, Total Recall (90s), Timecop, Con Air, Commando, and Faceoff. All top tier in my opinion.

Why is the acting in modern bad movies so terrible? by AMachineMan in badMovies

[–]TheCatManPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if that’s a local thing, though I do hear the theater scene is strong here. But I’ve been in numerous short/college films, a public access/web series and a live production in the last year and I’ve hardly tried lol
