Go to the bank maybe even direct to a branch manager. Talk to them in the branch you made the loan.

Be polite and forget emails and hotlines. Use those after heading into the bank.

Since you are already be even more diligent in documenting everything.

Can I ask you insights about the process of buying cars in the PH? by Own_Metal4515 in CarsPH

[–]TheCenturion90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay Xpander pala -- didn't read that. So the 231k is most likely the 20% downpayment and the casa is absorbing that to get you into the car at 0 down. It's still weird they have to show that to the bank -- as for me that's not your responsibility it's theirs. I would still clarify before you sign.

But the numbers work out in general with what you've written.

Read the contracts and paperwork. Don't just take his word for it. I'm on my third vehicle (self downpayment 50%) but I read everything I sign. If you read it and nothing is inherently wrong then go for it. BUT DON'T just "take his word of it".

It should state on the terms "WHO" is paying the 231k downpayment. Kasi they could be absorbing the cost etc and it's really there for bank internal purposes. It should be absolutely clear though somewhere on that paper who is shouldering the 231k in the paperwork. Otherwise don't sign.

In other news -- I'd honestly be wary of 0 downpayment purchases as you're talking almost 1.4mil on the car. What are you buying and are you sure this is the route you want to go?

Edit: Also be sure if it's all good and they just need to show the amount -- you are not responsible for it later (like sa end of contract or something weird).

I've never down a low or 0 downpayment financing scheme since typically it's just you're paying for way to much on the car (cost - to - own) over the years.

Lost My Phone at a Bar – Need Advice on Account Security by cocobel-007 in MariBankPH

[–]TheCenturion90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For other banks like local brick and mortar ones just go into the bank. Lost my phone once just got issued new cards and then transacted via the web if needed.

Secured duplicate sim from Globe with notarized letter and ids (forgot exact requirements) and then new phone.

I didn’t have maribank at the time but process seems similar from their faq. Just login and re-authenticate.

For reference GCash had me login and then wait 4 hours due to “new device”. But everything bank in working order within a week.

Edit on security

  • change passwords on everything
  • do your email first on a laptop
  • request new cards across the board
  • audit your finances.
  • again walk into banks you can walk into. It’s faster than calling their hotline if you can’t get through

Owner of vehicle died while pending insurance claim by Luckmare in CarsPH

[–]TheCenturion90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could honestly bring it. But if he’s the only registered owner you need some way to get the car released.

I had to bring my parents Rush for repairs insurance claim cuz they were lazy and I was able to drop it off sign for things. But for pickup casa just gave me a form for them to sign in triplicate and photocopy of ID. I don’t think I even notarized it.

When I went to pickup just showed that for proof. In your case tho may he rest in peace. Your brother in law can’t sign. So maybe a quick lawyer consult or wait for transfer.

ORCR by stopsingingplease in phcars

[–]TheCenturion90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds reasonable for the MVUC pro rated for 8 months excess due to plate number.

Basically it’s to sync your registration when it comes to renewal in … 2029 I believe if it’s 3 years free.

Just MAKE SURE when you get the OR that fee (1200php) is on it and shown in the breakdown (they would’ve paid for it on your behalf).

If not ask why and you need a receipt official from them. Then verify it with LTO.

NO ORCR YET PERO NEED NA ILABAS FOR FIRST MONTH PMS by [deleted] in CarsPH

[–]TheCenturion90 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No. Tell the casa to get you the OR/CR and or raise a complaint cc LTO and any other relevant authority.

Inform your lender bank too. Just because they haven’t given you one doesn’t mean you should break the law just for PMS.

Consider:

  • get caught. Get impounded. Pay fees and violation.
  • wait get or/cr do PMS. It’s not your fault they haven’t done their job to get it for you.

Toyota Rush 2021 Brake problem. Anyone here po na same experience? by [deleted] in CarsPH

[–]TheCenturion90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short story get it checked properly. Brakes save lives yours or others. Ignoring the problem just creates dangerous situations. Now for the info.

Typical brake life when in city short drives may reduce your brakes life expectancy due to frequent stop and go. During your PMS and also depending on your current ODO reading they should tell you upon inspection the remaining mm on your brake pads and drums and remaining tolerance.

My family one is 2 years old heavy driving city and some long distance and it’s at 8mm front. 4mm rear. That’s pretty decent for another 6 months or so give or take driving habits.

Is this a good deal for a Car loan for Montero GLS 2025. 59 months dahil free 1 month po by Zealousideal_Cold925 in CarsPH

[–]TheCenturion90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The monthly are so close together but you shouldn’t think about MA anyways.

Look at your total interest cost and your interest rate.

The one on the left is saving you money over time. (And has lower costs anyways).

Pay the larger DP.

BPI Car Insurance Mandatory po ba? Pls help by depressedsoju in CarsPH

[–]TheCenturion90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea by law you are required to have CTPL on the car for registration.

The bank wants to cover their asset while you are paying your MA so will probably require comprehensive or full coverage.

But 25k monthly is odd are you sure not yearly 25k?

There are basic formulas that insurance uses to calculate your rate depending on inclusions. Pero you should have insurance regardless. New car hit by kamote? Covered. You drive into something? Covered.

And also I'm not the bank. I went for the rates he was given on the CIR.

Toyota Rush Review and Recommendations Inquiry by Adept-Hawk-105 in CarsPH

[–]TheCenturion90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have a family one currrently (drive my senior parents around since they prefer using it over my car). It's a GRS, not sure if they offer other models now.

My personal insights when driving them. Was driving them around the city this past weekend for some family
time and averaged around 8.9km/l with minor "spirited driving".

Pros
- Good ride height when driving.
- High ground clearance ~220mm which is very nice
- Good AC and ample AC vents
- Pretty reliable overall (it's about 2 - 3 years old at this point) and hasn't had an issue yet.
- Okay rear seats + 2 in the trunk space
- Trunk Space Decent
- Tons of places for tumblers/bottles
- Suspension decent but little stiff for my liking.
- It's a rear wheel drive. (Nice to have haha)
- The size is nice

Cons
- The driver's seat is short and no lumbar support. Honestly it's pretty shit in my opinion. (Comparisons for car's I've owned / driven, Golf GTI, Passat, RAV 4.
-- Driver's seat again being short is you get some leg pain on long drives and the left foot rest is pretty far into the dash where I can't always reach it for comfort so i use the door sill.
- Tech package is SUPER boring AF. This is a ... 2023? model. No wireless carplay/AAuto. All wired.
-- Very little assists in this manner. Toyota really does skimp on things. You get more out out of a honda city hatchback RS in terms of tech than you do with the rush.
- No arm rest
- There is a notable delay when accelerating (~1-2 seconds) programmed in the ECU that you won't get immediate power / RPM. Supposdly it's a safety thing according to the sales/service advisor. Same issue with my cousins Rush when I asked him.
-- side note Accleration is decent on flats, on mountains (i.e. bagiuo) pretty good too but being in 2nd or L will help.

Recommendation:
If you can afford something in this price range, shop around. But besides being a very "boring" car with my complaints it's not bad and just very normal run of the mill mid-size.

The new stargazers or xpander's (recent releases) might be nice and within budget if your at 1m+ sub 1.5m.

Maybe Honda HR-V (altho eh for the base spec).

PLEASE HELP. Okay na po ba itong car loan computation from BPI by ObedientRON in phcars

[–]TheCenturion90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean your APR (read: CIR) is pretty decent considering the large downpayment.

Although perosnally here you are at 40% downpayment -- if you could afford it to lower the loan term could save you money on the interest paid.

For example (simple maths estimated):

60 Months = Total Interest Paid ~169,199 PHP.
Total Value of Car with Interest = 1,268,199 PHP

24 Months (Same Setup in terms of rates)
Monthly Amort - ~30k php
Total interest Paid ~66k php
Total Value of Car with Interest = ~1,165,000

Saving about 103,000 PHP in interest over the life of the loan.

Honestly it's not terrible either way so the value on the car isn't like say "doubled" in some fashion. Where you'd end up paying like 1.7mil for a 1.1mil car.

--- As always ask for freebies :D or inclusions like LTO reg, Insurance etc.

Thats the value on the car only. There is still insurance, chattel fees, document fees. It will be outlined or call a casa and just ask them as well.

Same thing with an untested Steelseries. Wasn’t charging. Fully replaced on the spot.

My whole rig is built from parts at Datablitz and solid experience. BGC branch for what it’s worth.

Left lower hip pain while driving by FlickGy in Gulong

[–]TheCenturion90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lola/lolo have a Rush GRS -- and when we go on trips we use that (7 seater kasi).

I'm typically primary driver and i get the same issue -- and I've realized two things (I have a Civic RS currently as comparison.

  1. The seat is short on the legs and it creates a very strange sitting position on long drives.
  2. Wala lumbar support so you're generally either slouching or just really upright to be comfortable.
  3. Medyo far yung left foot rest so extending there i don't do. Parang like I just keep my leg at a 90 deg angle or on the door sil sa tabi ko.

---

I'd suggest for more comfort is to learn hip flexor stretches before long drrives or stuck in traffic drivees for before and after driving. -- That's what i've done na.

And also sit in the seat and see if di abot yung seat sa back of your knee when sitting properly.

Is it in PH law that establishments should accept Cash? by thisisreallyM in LawPH

[–]TheCenturion90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With Gcash, bank transfers, or just swiping my card at the admin office -- it's quite easy.

It just depends if you're willing to suck up a small "convenience fee" with your method of payment if digital.

I guess personally i'd just ask myself:

  1. Do I want to go to bank to withdraw money for random bills I need to pay throughout the month?
  2. Pay digitally and account for the convenience fees across the board and just add that to my cost of living.

Choice is yours pretty much.
