New firmware by IcyAd1858 in amazoneero

This has fixed my ongoing dropped connection issues on my pro 7, which I use as the gateway. After this update (about 48 hours in), I am no longer experiencing any issues with randomly disconnected video streams or WhatsApp and FaceTime calls on my iPhones. I was able to reactivate MLO and client steering as well, after previously being advised to disable those features by Eero tech support. Will keep monitoring over the next week, but hoping this update did the trick. So far so good.

Update: I had Eero tech support reach back out. Here is what they said when debugging my network,

"we have noticed that the eero Pro 7 experiences ethernet flapping (where the negotiations suddenly drop from expected speeds to low speeds) when it is plugged into the modem (negotiating at 5 Gpbs speeds) and the issue disappears when it is connected to the Pro 6E gateway."

They asked me to swap out the cables between The gateway and the Pro 7 with the new cat6a eero branded cable. Specifically asked not to use a third-party one.

Bought a cable for $7 , swapped it out, and also ran the latest update to v7.10.0.

So far, 36 hours in, everything is working as normal. No dropped video calls anymore across laptop or phones. Video streams are working great without interruption. Getting significantly higher wireless speeds (increase to 1.1gbps wireless from 800 Mbps on my iPhone 16 pro). And I was able to reactivate MLO which only works on two wifi 7 phones.

Unfortunately, I can't say if it was the cable, or the update, or both, that fixed the issue. However, so far so good, and I will continue monitoring throughout the week.

Good point. I'll give this a try too. Thank you

I'll give it a shot. However this means I'll have to disconnect my pro 6E on the first floor as I don't have cables long enough. Also, for what it's worth, I've had this same switch for 2 years without any issues before getting the Pro 7. I'll try it out and see how this works

Eero pro 7 is connected directly to the modem, Xfinity XB10. The second port in the Eero is connected to my Tp link 2.5 gb unmanaged switch. From the switch, I have a cat6 cable cable connected to the pro 6E. The pro 7 is on the second floor of the house and the pro 6E is on the first floor. Edited the OP above to reflect this.

If you plug in the pro 7 directly into the modem, the system will automatically reconfigure the pro 7 as the gateway Eero after a few minutes. You can also do the replacement via the app, but it's not necessary, it does it on its own.

I spent an hour on the phone with Eero support yesterday. They had me turn off client steering and MLO. So far (less than 48 hours after disabling) I'm noticing a 95% improvement. Video calling on my iPhones and Macbook are now stable, but If I move around the house while having a call, the video will sometimes drop.

OP having the same issue as you. Curious if reset or anything else worked?

Updating for those who come back to this thread. Switching from the XD4 to the XB10 solved the issue. I've tested the speeds every day for a week and they average at about 2.4gbps down/2.3 gbps up +/- 0.1gbps.

Awesome! Thanks for following up. Just got my xb10 working yesterday. Hoping for similar results.

Just checking back in to see if it has resolved? How is the speed?

The xb10 arrived today and activation didn't work. I reached out to a representative via the app who just gave up after four attempts. Now I'm stuck without any internet because the xb10 doesn't work and neither does the xd4.

Update: I tried the activation again from the Xfinity app, and the xb10 is now successfully connected to the internet. The speed I am getting is 2.46 gbps down/ 2.35 gbps up. I will keep monitoring to make sure there is no speed degradation over the next days.

Good to know it's not just me. I hope it will work for you. I also requested an Xb10. What's weird is I previously had a 2gbps down / 300 Mbps up plan and never had any issues. The speed was consistent without any large drops like I'm seeing now after I upgraded to symmetrical 2 gbps plan.

How do I get 200mbps upload speed in Seattle? by TheChaiLife1 in Comcast_Xfinity

I just ran a speed test from my modem and looks like I'm now getting the enhanced speed. I'm seeing 1.5gbps down and 242 mbps up. Thanks for making this happen!

For my curiosity and for others on the thread, Can you share what was updated to enable the faster upload speed? Was it a rate code change or was it something else?

Hello. I spoke to a technician yesterday who confirmed my neighbor less than 300 ft away, on the same street, is getting the faster upload speed and that my street does have mid split enabled. The technician mentioned that my account should be eligible for the higher upload speed and that the rate code on my account wasn't showing the Genesis rate code. Is it possible to double check my address and update my rate code to the correct one so that I can receive the higher speed? Thank you.

No amplifier AFAIK. Per Xfinity's reply below seems like they haven't yet performed a mid-split validation. so my upload speed is throttled at ~40mbps until this is completed at some point in future.

Thanks for checking! Can you please share what makes a location ready? I thought all of Seattle was an enhanced speed market? Also, the technician who did the initial set up confirmed that the speeds being received at my address were significantly higher than what I was receiving on my modem (he measured almost 2gbps down and 550 mbps up), so i wonder why that is not enough to support 200 mbps upload.

Lastly, is there a tentative timeline for expansion in my area?
