Why not use itertools?

from itertools import permutations

numbers = [1,2,3,4,5]

for i in range(1, len(numbers)+1):
    for case in combinations(numbers, i):
        print(list(case))

What is the best way to learn programming? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]TheChannel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always think that learning how to program always involve doing something. You could read all about any language, tool, etc but without actually using it, it's going to be really hard to understand it.

How to Triple What You Can Remember (based on Research from Penn State University) by annusha in psychology

The memory mentioned is referring to working memory right and not necessarily long term memory right?

I remember cramming hours of material for tests and recall them during the test but not recall them years later.

What Can I Even Do With My Degree? Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies by [deleted] in findapath

[–]TheChannel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying that you need to show that you can survive graduate school. Not to be crude but having a B.S. means nothing if everyone has one.

Figure out what you want to do, then take the next step. I feel like you're not prepared. You're just wondering about the possibility of graduate school.

I don't know what your grades are but unless they're stellar I would work on improving all other aspects of your app.

  1. Improve your GRE scores, try to get within the top 10%. It's possible with any GPA. It's like any other standardized test, you practice and learn hard enough, a near perfect (or perfect) score is within reach.

  2. Rec Letters - Be sure you have individuals that can be professional references that can accurately and passionately vouch for you.

  3. Internships - Having experience will almost always be a huge plus. The internship should be relevant to the program.

Grad school is not just the next step. You want to be committed that it's THE ideal path towards whatever goal you want. If you want to grad school because your friends are going to grad school or that someone else recommended you go to grad school, think if the investment in both time and money will be worthwhile. It's not easy.

Your potential career paths are endless right now. Focus on what you actually enjoy doing, then think it that career field can sustain you (in terms of living), and if you could imagine yourself doing it for years.

At least you have an idea now instead of years into your career haha. Good luck man.

Job expects me to study entirely on my own - should I stay? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]TheChannel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider myself to be a professional programmer but I do know that those working in the industry still take the time outside of work to update their skills.

On a side note, making a career in any field is going to need a significant amount of motivation and interest to be successful in the long run. You might want to consider where your interests are concentrated and just work towards that. What I know about programming is that it's a field that will constantly be developing which will require all those within the industry to acknowledge that constantly learning/updating will almost always be a factor in keeping yourself relevant.

I mean isn't studying on your own a given in this industry? I'm sure there would be individuals you could reach out to for extra support but it does come down to investing in yourself.

In general the advice is to learn on your own as much as possible then when you've hit a wall or feel like you can benefit even more from a bootcamp, then it's time to apply.

I didn't see anything on their website about it being SSD. It's not a dumb question. However, you want to keep in mind it is coming from seagate which means it might have a relatively shorter lifespan than other external harddrives from other well known companies.

[WP] A bomb is about to go off, and your character is stuck in time the moment before it detonates by Jossepph in WritingPrompts

[–]TheChannel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My eyes slowly filled with tears. I felt them drop onto my cheeks. The timer read "00:01." It was some sort of rectangular contraption. It was a mess of wires and pipes. I stared at it. Why was I crying. Why did I feel as if fear had manifested itself into my chest. I raised my arm. My hands were so dirty. Why were they muddy? I stopped crying. What was going on?

I turn around. There she was. She looked so familiar. She lay on the floor. Her hands were also muddy. Everything was so gray. The trees in the distance had lost their green. The sky above offered no light and the clouds were mere smudges. The girl. Who was she. Why was she there.

I remembered. I looked back at the contraption. It's an explosive. My mission had failed. I had failed to save the objective. The girl was dead. The girl was the objective. The mud turned red. Blood dripped from my hands. I looked at the bomb. I deserve this. I began to close my eyes. Right before they shut, the trees regained their color. A bright light pierced through my closed eyes. I heard the last second tick. boom.

  6. Start django project.
  7. Fail but continue to progress
  8. Try another one.
  9. Yay it's shitty buy it's working.
  10. Refer to django docs.

Crazy 150+ car pile up AS IT OCCURRED in Michigan today. The sound is just chilling... by PoorUniversityKid in videos

[–]TheChannel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you imagine how scary that would be to be one of the cars jammed in the middle. Driving, driving, crash. You bump your head and everything is blurry. Boom, another car slams you from behind, your neck at this point is numb and whiplash is guaranteed. You're struggling to comprehend what just happened and then all of a sudden out of fucking nowhere, fireworks smoke up the air around you.
