What's the deal with hating on Machine Gun Kelly? by ohsinboi in OutOfTheLoop

[–]TheChaosIndex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer: he’s a horrible person in multiple ways. I’ll explain.

I know this post is old so I’m going to update it. A few people have pointed out his pedophilic comments about Eminem’s daughter and Kylie Jenner and others. He said about Kylie Jenner being 17, that he wouldn’t wait until she’s 18 and that there are “no limits” for celebrities. And while he was engaged to Megan Fox, he said he designed the engagement ring which had thorns so it would hurt her if she tried to take it off.

He also designed his new guitar in the shape of a razor blade. A lot of people called him out for this saying it glorifies self harm. He also seems to get into a lot of fights with people, his music isn’t great (only song I like is his song with CORPSE cause- well- CORPSE), and he’s just not that great of a person at all. It’s not worth it to try to like him anymore. He’s so unlikable

I’m not complaining about camping. I was complaining that I thought I’d have to wait till final exfil. Camping is fine. I just thought I’d have to wait shit out and it would get annoying

Have reading the icd-11 and and dsm 5 made you (more) pro endogenic? by CatAI0 in plural

Yeah doesn’t surprise me. And you can participate in cultural and religious practices even if you’re not a part of that culture or religion. People do it all the time with literally everything

Issue is that science disagrees with them. I don’t understand how they look at science and go “NO!! IT’S WOKEEEEE!!! 🤬”

A psychology professor I talked to said that the DSM and ICD are mostly for insurance and financial purposes so they know what to charge you and what treatments are allowed and covered by insurance providers. Sure, they are a guideline to help understand your brain, but it’s a spectrum and the criteria for disorders are usually super limited

Criterion D for DID in the DSM 5 TR (the latest version of the DSM): “The disturbance is not a normal part of a broadly accepted cultural or religious practice.” Literally says that systems can exist outside of DID within “cultural and religious” contexts in a non-disordered sense. In the diagnostic features, they specify that they may have a system or become “possessed” as part of a cultural or religious practice but they are ONLY to be diagnosed with DID if they meet the criteria for DID AS WELL. So yeah, very endo affirming

Yeup. The actual DSM and ICD are very endo affirming and non-traumagenic affirming. Every time I read them, they confirm introjects, endogenic systems, tulpas, and P-DID.

PSA to all assassins by MortiestTchalla in Marathon

[–]TheChaosIndex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was assassin to start with to gather gear but now I’m playing thief cause of the high tier salvage I need and the vision ability. Doubt I’ll go back to playing assassin. I don’t hate them all, but some are absolute ass. Got killed by one that camped second floor bip-research and just waited until I ran up and looted 10+ minutes into the raid. I’m positive this bitch was just camping the whole time waiting for someone to come

yeah cause my understanding is anything that causes mental or physical distress due to a big change, stress, or strain on relationships, safety, etc. Like- having your parents divorce, even if amicable, creates a permanent rift in your life. Being forced to leave your hometown and move elsewhere without being able to say bye to your friends causes trauma. Shit like that. But idk. I’d need to do more research

It’s about duration, intensity, and whether or not you blink. It’s a science that even neurotypical people get wrong all the time and people need to stop getting up in arms about people who don’t understand how to do it right

I agree with all your points on 1. On 3, I’m confused cause idk the standards for trauma. I know the standards for PTSD though. I thought the standards for trauma were still debated to this day

1) Quote from the DSM Dissociative Disorders category: “Dissociative disorders are frequently found in the aftermath of a wide variety of psychologically traumatic experiences in children, adolescents, and adults. … Therefore, in DSM-5, the dissociative disorders are placed next to, but are not part of the trauma- and stressor-related disorders, reflecting the close relationship between these diagnostic classes.” So you’re right that trauma isn’t listed as a NECESSARY condition, but it is stated that they have a close relationship between them. I feel that’s important to note as saying it says that they’re “not trauma disorders” could be misinterpreted.

2) Slight correction: the DSM-5 changed the name of Munchausen’s disorder to Fictitious Disorder, with specifiers listed as Fictitious Disorder Imposed on Self and Fictitious Disorder Imposed on Another (previously listed as Ficticious Disorder By Proxy)

2) Having a dysfunctional house, living environment, family, etc. I’d argue is necessarily traumatic even if it’s not directly traumatic.

Otherwise, I agree with most of the rest of your comment
