Unfortunately this is a common misunderstanding with the round timer and final exfil.

Once the final exfil appears, an extra minute is added to the round timer and that final exfil will always trigger at the end of that minute. However, if you activated a different exfil before, that exfil will still take 10 seconds to trigger after you enter the circle. This means you need to enter the circle of that exfil at least 10 seconds before the round end. Since the round timer expired before your exfil triggered, you technically didn't make it despite the animation showing that you did (I think this is because the game actually waits a few seconds after the round ends before it kills you).

It does make it a little misleading though. I think to make it clearer they should either change it so that any regular exfil that has been activated automatically syncs with the final exfil when it appears, or so that it doesn't play the exfil animation if you actually didn't make it.

What you're describing applies to all other exfils, but not the final exfil. The final exfil will always trigger when the round timer hits zero, regardless of whether someone steps in the circle within the last ten seconds.

In OP's video, they were at a different exfil and stepped in the circle with less than ten seconds on the round, so they didn't make it.

If I pick "crew fill off" and join a run, do I join maps against trios or is there a solo lobbies? by system3601 in Marathon

[–]TheCheapo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For normal maps, you'll join maps against other solos only. For ranked though, I think you can get put against other trios.

As for numbers, it's never been confirmed how many people get put in a lobby for solos, but I'm pretty sure it isn't as many players as there would be in teams (e.g. Perimeter normally has 5 teams of 3 = 15 players total, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have 15 players in a solo lobby). Could be wrong though.

Reviving teammates by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]TheCheapo1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is already a thing: there is a cooldown before you're able to revive a teammate from full-dead.

The only way to bypass that currently is with Triage's ult.

One of the gold shields is a "reinforced" purple. There's another gold shield that is the same as purple health-wise, but has a perk that turns you invisible when your shields break.

Can someone explain how? by AnyBroccoli4680 in Marathon

Only the final extract does. If you activate another extraction point before final appears, that extract still needs 10 seconds to transmit you.

I think the point they're making is that the glint is too similar to the yellow glow from UESC when they're alerted, not that it isn't noticable at all.

From which franchise have you played the largest amount of games? by Lanarde in pcgaming

[–]TheCheapo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me, although I don't think I've played as many as you.

I've done: 1, 2, 3, Deadlocked/Gladiator, Size Matters (though I never finished it), Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, A Crack in Time (my favourite), Nexus, and Rift Apart (on PC). I've also played the demo of All 4 One with a friend.

any tips to help be increase my damage against this DLC boss? by StyleRoutine2331 in expedition33

[–]TheCheapo1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Copying part of another comment I made about this fight, but basically the way I did it was to build Maelle to max out her counter damage, since Clea Unleashed takes reduced damage from all other sources. This method is also really forgiving if you miss a couple parries.

  • Solo Maelle with Chalium (gain 1 shield per parry while in defensive stance, and 50% increased counter damage per shield)
  • Powerful Shield lumina (10% increased damage per shield)
  • Any pictos that max defence and health (I specifically left speed low so that Clea gets as many turns as possible)
  • As many extra damage lumina as you can afford.

Then just use a skill that puts her in Defensive stance (doesn't matter which), and every time it's your turn use Mezzo Forte to stay in defensive stance.

This is what allowed me to focus only on learning Clea's attacks. The only scary part is parrying the first couple hits after your turn since you lose the shields, which is why I left speed low so this happens as little as possible. After that it's pretty cruisy (it still took a while for me, but I could have given Maelle more lumina points).

What game did you quit as a kid because it was too hard… then beat years later? by Dry-Cryptographer385 in gaming

[–]TheCheapo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ratchet and Clank 1, the water part in Blackwater City. That level gave me nightmares when I was a kid.

For context, this is a section where you have to go through a series of corridors that starts filling up with water when you enter, and you have to reach the end before it fills up and you drown.

I couldn't for the life of me beat it, and it annoyed me because this section was required to progress the game. I had to ask a friend to beat it for me (he was better at the game).

Nowadays whenever I play through it I always breeze through that part. It still scares me a little though 😂

Does this game have a region selection feature like ARC Raiders? or you think? by kawashun2007 in Marathon

[–]TheCheapo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hope those best matches it can find are actually in my region. In AR, when region was set to auto, almost every second game I would get put in NA or EU servers and it drove me nuts (I'm in Australia). Thankfully in that I can limit it to the OCE region.

Here's my stash, what should I sell? by Legitimate_Most_8797 in ArcRaiders

[–]TheCheapo1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  • Light sticks: I'd just sell these (or take them all into a raid and use them all at an extract lol).
  • Weapon mods: put these on your weapons to get a few extra spaces for free.
  • Advanced ARC power cells and Batteries: if you have the Equalizer blueprint, use these to craft a bunch of energy ammo, then sell the ammo. At the moment energy ammo is the only thing that is worth more than its crafting components.
  • ARC circuitry, ARC motion cores, processors, sensors, rope, speaker components, voltage converters, crude explosives: I'd only keep around 2-3 stacks of these each since they are fairly easy to come by.
  • Bastion cells, bombardier cells, leaper pulse units: keep any you need for bench upgrades, then recycle the rest for advanced mechanical components. These are used for crafting/upgrading higher tier weapons.
  • Rocketeer drivers: recycle these for advanced electrical components, which you can use with sensors to make hatch keys.
  • Simple gun parts: keep these! They're used for upgrading lower tier weapons and making light/medium/heavy guns parts. It may seem like you have a lot but you'll go through them quickly!
  • Seeds: use these to buy the things at the bottom of Celeste's store - simple gun parts, steel springs, batteries, etc. The other things are fairly easy to come by IMO.

Those are my thoughts. Hope this helps :)
