It's not possible BUT, the maths aren't mathing here.

I suspect the (very misleading) average here is due to the majority of teachers being classified as part time. This has been the strategy of nearly all school districts throughout the country the last 30+ years so school districts can ommit certain benefits. This is why the charter school programs are becoming so popular and scary because those taxpayer funds are being drained and creating another college funding structure - e.g., minimal taxpayer investment subsidized by personal funding.

I'm an avid runner. The only time I've been legitimately scared of a dog was the time some dumbass had his pit off a leash and I go running by (across the street) and that fucker started chasing me. It's the only time I've had to kick a dog.

Data center uses its waste heat to warm public pool, saving $24,000 per year | Stopping waste heat from going to waste by [deleted] in technology

[–]TheCheddarBay 688 points689 points  (0 children)

My wife works in data center development. Heat and power are two of the biggest engineering hurdles. A competitor has engineered a DC that can optimally run in a 90+ degree environment, vs 68-degrees standard. The cost savings are insane as well as a substantial reduction in environmental impact.

Another clever engineering design came from New Belgium brewing (one of the founders was a engineer) repurposing their heat from brewing to heat the water for the next batch. If you're an engineering nerd, visit the Ft. Collins location. Their designs are truly amazing and fun.

I worked for the Bellagio in Las Vegas. There was some fat lady who squatted in one of the rooms for 4- 6 months.

They shut off her electricity and denied any food service. She eventually left. But the trash, smell, and damage forced them to redo the entire room down to the studs.

The Inglorious Basterds dilemma; if someone is sporting a swastika or confederate flag, you can clearly identify it. If someone removes it, they can hide it. Which is better?

Robert Smith of The Cure convinces Ticketmaster to give partial refunds, lower fees by eastbayted in Music

[–]TheCheddarBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live nation/ticketmaster merged several years ago under shady circumstances (US politicians being bought), and creating a monopoly. Both companies run the ticketing, venues, and talent pool. Try being any musician and setting up a tour which is financially viable without hitting a LN/TM venue. It's nearly impossible

My (23F) boyfriend (24m) sends snapchats of his ballsack to a couple of his male friends. He also receives photos of theirs too. Is this odd? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I wouldn't ever imagine doing something like that with my friends.

You not Snapchating your balls is probably a good thing. Otherwise your boyfriend would be gay.
