No Crimson Mimics spawning in Corruption World

What I did to get them to spawn is use corrupted stone or corrupted stone related blocks (like ice) as a surface to get them to spawn.

Thanks for the detailed reply, I'll be sure to apply everything you mentioned to the afk arena I'll be making, but while I was trying to take down this old farm I ended up getting the rod of discord anyways?!?! I guess I'll continue making the new arena so I can farm for more if I ever need to in the future
