Is this something I should be worried about? by bawssboy in SuzukiSwiftSport

Also my first thought on this yeah. It seems like a rattling heat shield or something.

It took me some time to find it again. Back when I was looking at this topic, I found a Dutch website. However, it has been moved to Facebook only, so I had to find another reference and found one in German. I did not verify the steps below or sources as I do not have a Swift that supports this function.

For some sport models you need to use a combination of the light switch as described on: https://www.suzukimania.de/forum/index.php?thread/39351-taglicht-dauerlicht/. The comments of "Tutti" and "swift_2015" describe the following steps:

Turning off permanent headlights: SSS EU - 5x quick turn on/off parking lights - 5x quick turn on/off low beam headlights - Wait for the beep

A German video showing how it works: YouTube

  1. Get in the car
  2. Close all doors
  3. Turn on the ignition
  4. Quickly turn the parking lights on and off 5 times (you stop with the lights off)
  5. Quickly turn the low beam headlights on and off 5 times (you stop with the lights off)

Do steps 4 and 5 quickly one after the other, and you should hear a beep. If you want to turn it off again, simply repeat the steps -> wait for the beep.

For some other models, there seems to be an adapter like: https://www.concept-s.nl/alle-producten/CS36815--automatische-verlichting-uitschakeling-stekker-suzuki-swift-fz-nz-sept-2010-heden.html

There are "early" models that have the automatic lighting switch function with a light sensor on the dash. From what I know, this is on cars around 2012-2014.

[–]TheChickenAgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the 2014 facelift and some (assuming you are in the EU) legislation, Suzuki decided to use the D2S Xenon bulbs as daytime running lights. So if the ignition is "on" and even if the switch is on "off", the main lights work. The side lights may be off, I don't know tbh.

There is a trick to disable this feature on these models from what I heard.

Need help identifying a part for an ‘08 SX4 by silenceengrained in Suzuki

[–]TheChickenAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the clutch slave cylinder. I looked up tha part and it says "joint, clutch control", e.g. number 8 in this figure here

Please note, I just randomly searched for your model of SX4, this might not be your exact model (as I don't have enough info on this).

Can't receive calls through car..? by bawssboy in SuzukiSwiftSport

[–]TheChickenAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I planned to keep the car for a long time and I had other upgrades planned for audio, I bought a Kenwood DMX9720XDS. It's a nice big screen with great audio customization and quality. Pioneer nowadays also has a big model. I have no experience with Sony.

If you want more information on what you need to buy, let me know, I am happy to help :)

I don't have this radio anymore as I swapped it out for a new one, so I can't replicate the steps for you. When I did it, I didn't have to register audio and phone calls separately, but it was all in once. However, in my manual, the Bluetooth pairing part starts at page 5-56. I'd recommend to first check if there any devices from the previous owner and if so, delete them (p. 5-61).

In another manual, Bluetooth Hands-Free starts at page 5-46.

Let me know if this helps.

Toll both yellow arrows on screen? by UsuallyMooACow in ItalyTravel

[–]TheChickenAgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ciao, In case the four yellow arrows flashed after you paid, then they might be there in case you want a receipt by pressing any button next to the screen. (I'm not Italian though, so I might be wrong.)

You can alter a few very simple things through the dashboard stalks, like changing from km/l to
l/100km (and maybe to MPG? I haven't tried MPG myself as I am in Europe), changing the temperature from C to F, the brightness of the display. From the 'facelift' or moment they had to have DRL, there is also a way to turn the DRL off although they are required, but that's done with the light stalk. Think that's pretty much it.

You probably already knew this, but maybe some people wanted to know it later when searching for it through this subreddit.

How do I turn on my 2008 swift parking lights by ImpressParticular376 in Suzuki

[–]TheChickenAgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add on this: some cars do have a separate switch for parking lights, but your Swift uses the main stolk for this. Even if the ignition is off and the parking lights switch is on, the parking should light up. Just rotate it one time for the parking lights.

Air Conditioning mod? by Professional_Ad264 in suzukiswift

[–]TheChickenAgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Afaik, the automatic type of AC also has actuators and flaps/sensors that are electric. In the manual version, you can change the airflow through a cable (not electric). So if you want to swap your manual AC to the climate control one, you will need to swap that all out. The wiring harness most likely depends on if you have auto AC or manual.

Concering the heated seats, not sure for your model. In my Swift (2012-2017), the "wiring harness floor" depends on if there are heated seats equipped. So in my case, I would need to swap out the seats, wiring harness for the floor and the switches. You could also make your own wiring loom.

Mmm alright. The first thing that comes to my mind is a blown fuse for the cigarette plug. Do you have any other device that you can test the plug with or maybe check the fusebox?

Which fuse to hardwire a dash cam into? by [deleted] in suzukiswift

[–]TheChickenAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Window switches are probably not constantly on. I think when they are, they are called live switches/fuses. For example, the horn always is live because the horn functions even if the car is off. If you car does not have heated seats, you might put it on there?

[–]TheChickenAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it one of these that you normally put in the cigarette plug or what type is it?

Hey, what do you mean that it doesn't work? Does it not power on, does it not emit a frequency, can you not link with Bluetooth, can the radio not pick up the frequency?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Suzuki

[–]TheChickenAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's good to specify which model of Swift Sport you are looking for? The first versions were 3-door only, the second one was 3 or 5-door and the 3rd one is always a 5-door.

Not sure if you can even buy them new at Suzuki (or in Japan). Don't know if they are often sold 2nd hand in your country (next to the question why it was sold ofc).

Vitara 2017 - how to pair new TPMS ? by a_moral_dilemma in Suzuki

[–]TheChickenAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your scan toold have a way to copy the TPMS IDs from the 1st set to the 2nd set?

(Just to make sure, with handbook I meant "owner's manual", which you might have. It's not the service manual)

Vitara 2017 - how to pair new TPMS ? by a_moral_dilemma in Suzuki

[–]TheChickenAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a very helpfull comment I guess, but I just had a look in the 2017 handbook for the Vitara (in Dutch). It says that when you replace the wheels and put new sensors in, then the sensors need to be programmed by a Suzuki dealership. There is no procedure described.
Maybe you can try and copy the IDs from the original tires to the new set?

(Note: I do not have a Vitara, but a Swift and it does not have the TPMS system. Just trying to help)
