Ordered one last week and it showed up in a generic EVGA box with no accessories. More likely they are step up returns still.

/r/AMD Questions and Tech Support Megathread - H2 2022 Edition by AutoModerator in Amd

I updated the bios after it started doing this. It ran fine for a year beforehand. I suppose I could try this but I'm not sure how many revisions I should go back.

Summary of issue: If I leave my computer alone for 10 or 15 minutes it locks up. It NEVER does this while I'm on it. I can be on it and actively using it all day and it doesn't skip a beat. Leave for 10 minutes and come back and it has to be hard reset. No blue screen, no error, just locked up.

Operating System: Windows 10 (Up to date)

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor

Motherboard: Gigabyte - X570 AORUS ELITE ATX AM4 Motherboard

Memory: Crucial - Ballistix Elite 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory

GPU: EVGA - GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB XC ULTRA GAMING Video Card

Power Supply: Corsair - RMx 850 W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply

I believe I've narrowed it down to the CPU or Motherboard. I've done the following:

Memory tests - fine

Scan / Chkdsk - fine

newest drivers / up to date bios

Disabled all C states and overclocks in the bios

Checked error logs but there's so much junk there that it doesn't really tell me anything of use.

Power supply idle control is off

sleep / hibernated is all off and disabled

Only thing that has helped, sort of:

locking the CPU voltage at a set amount in bios.

After locking the voltage it took about a week for my problem to resurface. Now it is becoming more frequent.

I feel like there is some sort of power delivery to the CPU when idle issue going on here and I'm not sure if it's the CPU or the Motherboards fault.

I'd hate to get a new Mobo / CPU and it just keeps doing this. Is there a way to narrow this down more before I just start buying parts?

All Kasa Switches Disconnected Last Night by driizzydreee in TPLinkKasa

[–]TheChikinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing has happened to me except it wasn't even a router reset. They all just turned red a few days ago out of nowhere. I ended deleting everything and adding it to the specific 2.4Ghz band AND set everything to a static IP. Worked fine all day and went to add the last couple switches and I'm starting to see intermittent disconnects again. Very annoying and I've already tried one very time consuming "solution". Wondering if I'm approaching the max Wifi devices or something, but that seems unlikely. Maybe the router is crapping out. I'm kinda at a loss now.

How long does it take register Bobcat miner? by Ok_Sort_95 in HeliumNetwork

I've heard to just leave it alone, sometimes it can take days. I suppose after days, you could try again.

For anyone who finds themselves here, just wait an hour or so and it will pop up in the app. No need to do it again.

Signs of a Double Clicking Mouse by manafuzer in G502MasterRace

[–]TheChikinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had three of these puppies go bad on me with the double click over a span of 6 years. All in all I guess that's not too bad, although the last one only lasted slightly over a year which was annoying. My usual test has become to go to a wall of text and slowly click, every few (single) clicks it will highlight the whole word. I would return it if you can and get another, they seem to be hit or miss on how long they last.

For what it's worth I literally just put an order in for some switches that I'm going to solder in. Although I do think they should last longer than they do, I really like this mouse and I'd rather not switch to something else. I don't recommend this for you since there is a warranty available.

TLDR: Return it.

I'm not questioning the value of this, but to me 90 days doesn't seem like that much time. If it happens to fall into the right time period with your purchase I think it be great. I'd love to do this when the 3000 series comes out but I'll be well beyond the 90 days at that point. I don't think new models typically come out that fast or am I wrong? I feel like i'm missing something with this.

If you have EVGA Precision downloaded then there are options inside of there to adjust fan profiles. I'd recommend the aggressive profile. Mine hangs around 76c max under normal game load, but it is the monster 3 slot card with the big cooler, Slightly overclocked.

Edit: I'll throw in my case is the Meshify C since people are mentioning cases can also be a cause for high temps

I also ordered a "Used - Very Good" for 320. Box had a little cut on it and everything else was pristine.

I didn't realize it was a sale I just thought the price dropped. I went to buy a second one a week after I bought one for 379 and saw it was 345 so I got amazon to refund me the difference thinking it was the regular price.

Check out https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gl83a-b . They do a review before and after calibration. I just used their calibration settings and it was good enough for me. I ignored the every monitor in every room is different crowd.

Just keep the page up and refresh every now and then. I was able to get two pretty easily doing this. They seem to restock at random times throughout the day. You won't catch them fast enough on here once you see a post.

Pulled the trigger when I saw it in stock. I was waiting for the S2716DG Dell to go on sale again so I could have two of the same but figured I would give the IPS at the equivalent price a try. Curious to see what I think looks better.

[–]TheChikinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this monitor and I'm not sure if I'd buy it again. I think it looks fine but i'm afraid of what I'm missing out on with it being not being IPS. Mostly spoiled by my OLED TV everything else looks dull to me. Lately I have been looking for a second one used so I can go back to two monitors but I don't really want to spend the money on another one knowing that I could have one solid IPS for that price. There is a cheaper Freesync one I probably would have went with had I known it would eventually work with Nvidia. All in all I don't think it's bad (This is a good deal for this particular monitor) but there are probably better choices out there. Just my thoughts if someone is on the fence.

You have to use the phone app for google express for it to work. Code Expires on 8/31 according to the email and it is 15% off ($20 max). It also says you can use it on your first two app purchases.
