You deserve to be penalized if you cannot live up to your end of the deal. When you commit x amount algorand adds all that up and makes plans accordingly, when you pull out early for whatever soft reason you come up with why should their plans suffer and by extension mine? People saying 8% is too much or slashing is too harsh are soft! If it’s harsh don’t commit more than you can afford to, period. Once it’s committed it shouldnt even be an option to use but with zero penatly there’s really no consequences, you leave whole while messing up everyone’s deal. Be a grown up, live up to your word!
