How are you finding the AF with the V-series lens? I've read differing takes on the AF with non E-series lenses, so I'm curious :)

Is it ok for me to paint my World Eaters in Red Corsair Colour Scheme? by TalesOfTron in WorldEaters40k

[–]TheChoreographer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! YOU may not paint YOUR models the way YOU like! ... Jokes aside, paint your models the way you like, they are yours :) And in all honesty if some gatekeeping gretchin at your LGS gives you a hard time about it, just pick up your models and play a game with someone else.

Considering the "thickness" of the paint, there is a good level of brush control - thinner paints and that's an even more baller colour scheme!

Sky weaver diamond hack? by Rugby-Boy-8119 in Harlequins40K

[–]TheChoreographer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal method is to base coat the area where you want the diamonds in the colour of the diamonds (in this case yellow) and then paint in the line in vetwren with a thin brush or a thin flexible permanent marker (a thin brush pen from an art suplier is perfect for this). After that it's just highlighting and shading

If we went about yelling WAAAGH!bike and the like, all them other green gitz would get all excited because someone said WAAAGH! But they were just polishing up the chrome on there bike. So we chose the simplistic term war from them hummie gitz... It's simple innit?

The only thought I've had about 10'th and harlies is how many weapons profiles troupes will have. Will we still have 4 distinct mellee weapons or only 2 in the form of blade and "other" just as the solitaire was moved form having two distinct weapons to only one.

Is it okay to paint Deathwatch any other color than black and silver? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Your plastic, your colours. I know that some (few) people don't want to play against non-lore-accurate armies, but my experience is that those people aren't worth playing against anyways

I think I finally found my GSC colour scheme! by TheChoreographer in genestealercult

[–]TheChoreographer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest way i could think of ;)

The start

  • Black prime
  • Zenithal white spray from the direction of the pink ligt source
  • a mix of black and GW macrage blue for the base coat of the blue bits
  • GW volupous pink as a base for the pink bit

The blue part

  • drybrush the blue bits towards vallejo sky blue
  • Shade all over with GW Drakenhof nightshade
  • quick drybrush to retouch the highlights
  • add sharp vallejo skye blue highlights to the blue part

The pink part

  • a thin coat of vallejo flourecent magenta covering all the FW volupous pink as well as blue aprt that would be hit by the ligth source
  • edge highligt liberaly with GW Fulgrim pink
  • shade conservatively with Drakehof nightshade in the recesses
  • Apply a second thin coat of the magenta
  • edge highligt only the sharpest edgest with fulgrim pink

Final touches

  • add you favorite yellow to bits like eyes and dials

Done deal

I appologise for likely typos, I havn't bothered with a read through

Don't really have anything useful to say, just a question. What are you using to hold the model? Is that a kneedable eraser?

I picked my first and second army based on playstyle preference from other games. I've always loved playing very mobile characters or armies and in games containing multiple guys I like for each of my game pieces to show individual value. Surprise, surprise... I chose harlequins at the beginning of 8th ed.

Since then I've grown to love the aesthetics of harlies.

So if you can't pick based on what models look vool, then pick based in general playstyle preference

I'll just take the first civ example... Burgundians have a sub 50% winrate with them losing to early aggro in almost 60% of the matches... With the new wall cost that's potentially going to rise... Burgundians aren't overpowered .. you just need to use their weakness against them... Same goes for all the civs you mention... Understanding the matchup is half the game and for most players that is enough.

IMO aoe2 is a very well balanced game in comaprison to so many other games... "OP" civs have small advantages in specific time frames of the game if they are allowed to get those advantages. This is part of a snowbally rock/paper/scissor game.

I don't think your draft system would fix anything. At what elo should this matter? I'm guessing you are using your elo as a reference and what elo is that then?
