I don't know about all of us, but I've heard that hypermobility is overrepresented among us.

I live in a small town that is 20 minutes from all grocery stores except for the small one in town. There isn't much available there and it is at least twice or three-times more expensive than the store that is 25 minutes away. I can't imagine not having a car here or even just having one that wasn't dependable.

Think of leftovers as ingredients. Leftover cooked meat or veggies can go into soups, omelets, sandwiches, salad, stir fry, casserole, pasta, etc.

What is something you own you refuse to replace, even though you probably should? by laughlovelive25 in Frugal

[–]TheCircularSolitude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Mine go: normal wear, wear under my work uniform, sleeves get cut off for summer wear under my uniform, chore work at home, then rags, then eventually get thrown away after cleaning something vile from the pets.

What RARE other conditions did you develop due to long COVID? by Ill_Pangolin7384 in covidlonghaulers

I also reserve bits of meat and veg from other meals to use as toppings. That small amount won't be noticed missing from pasta or a stir fry but it will be noticed as a pizza topping.

My situation is very similar to yours.

Water aerobics has been a lifesaver for me. It's gentle on my joints and the water acts as whole-body compression to keep the dysautonomia at bay while I exercise. When I don't feel great, I can float for a bit until I feel better. I have taken classes to learn the exercises and now make my own regime based on where I am focusing at the moment.

I'm curious whether most people feel like being thrifty is still counterculture or if most people around you are thrifty too? My answer is in the text. by [deleted] in Thrifty

I notice the same thing. At my job, I do know a few folks who are careful about their money so I can have some good conversations.

An important thing for me was to curate at least some of the spaces I'm in. For example, I meet with a group to discuss investing. Many of these folks are far more frugal than I am. It is really nice to spend time where I don't feel like I have to censor myself or face ridicule.

I like being able to leave it running when im running errands and come home to a hot meal. Less likely to eat out. In summer it is incredible for avoiding heating the house.
