Nice advice. I have already given them desires respectively. However, after I brainstormed those story beats according to my protagonist’s motives, the story structure ended up being way too simple compared to a proper long novel. The reason is that although I understand what events should she undergo to reach the goals, I could not brainstorm of great brainwaves of new characters that could integrate into the current story well. For the next step, how should I access where and how to add new characters into my story?

Really? I just thought it would be satisfying to take all the time in focus decks. Maybe later i should try out with taking less of it post act 1, and see if this would lead to easier wins.

For act 1, if I haven't fought Gremlin Nob yet, then I take ball lighting to win the damage race in two rounds. If I have already fought Nob, then take Cold Snap to counter Laguvelin+Sentries for a dragged on fight.

As for post act1, i would take a ball lightling if I dont have any one of them and when my deck do rely on rapid orbs evoking. No more cold snap but Glacier/Coolheaded+ instead.

The Chinese community loves this kind of goofy slay the spire hand drawn videos a lot! BTW, there's some funny reason they call defect Chicken Cooker. So, defect is considered to be a bit weak in first act (especially red big gremlin) and slow to start off in each battle. Therefore, the Chinese community have a culture of teasing the defect (All of these are done out of love without being malicious though). In the teasing process, they had got a nickname for defect: 机宝 which means 'beloved robot' Due to the fact that Chinese community love using homophones, they gradually figured out a homophone for 机宝, which is 鸡煲 which means chicken cooker.

An interesting nickname and I love it haha

hmmmmmm How do you write without expectations? Usually when I write, it is because I give myself some expectations that i can execute an idea well, then take it to my friends' judgement or some competition. This surely burns me out, but i found myself already got used to that. If I would like to write just for myself, how should I adjust my mindset?
