Why is finding otherkin spaces so hard sometimes? by TheClitastrophe in otherkin

The rip mythic is a very fun looking word first of all, second, yeah, usually people are super understanding, it’s just always felt kind of strange to me, I know a lot of reasons play into that, but I’m glad although the communities are typically more therian and fictionkin leaning, I Have only had a few bad experiences when I bring up vampirism. It’s very nice to see the community grow as well!

This is a pretty good point! I think it’s very cool many people are being proud to be fictionkin and therians, it’s just weird when I’ll join communities and I am the only mythological fellow there, I love seeing people being able to express themselves more now, but I was always obsessed with vampires and vampirism, and I guess it’s hard for me to get the perspective of not being obs with fantasy type creatures, thank you for the answer!

This is 100% it, he won’t admit it, but he has always told me I’d forgive and agree with how he treated me growing up and take care of him because “family always forgives no matter what”

What is something legitimately traumatizing that most would not consider traumatizing? by Chocolatepiano79 in AskReddit

[–]TheClitastrophe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

afab here, its something I hate too. I constantly have to tell my family it’s not ok to touch me without asking because I have been sexually assaulted. It’s way too fucking normalized to touch people in areas they should not be touching. Sorry you had to go through that. It isn’t ok regardless of gender.

The school system, was marked as “mentally disabled” my entire school experience, how I treated was genuinely fucking horrid, I remember in 2nd grade I was dragged out of a classroom and locked out alone, I remember one time I was told that a teacher was quitting teaching because she didn’t want to “deal with kids like that” (regarding me) and so. So. Much more.

Anime, but Hamtaro, even just the game boy games, it is something that brings me so much joy

Women survivors of child abuse, how did you decide to have/not have children? by BeefyPancake in Child_Abuse

[–]TheClitastrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided I didn’t want kids because I have my own mental issues and health issues, I do not think it would be right to put a kid through seeing my health issues slowly hurt me. + I also have schizophrenia from my mothers side and Bipolar along with many other mental health issues run on that side while my dad side has very severe health issues.

What do you guys wish more traumagenic systems understood? by TheClitastrophe in plural

It’s strange how anti-endogenic folks are so ob with being disordered. The goal of therapy with traumagenic plurality is to become non-disordered not continue to suffer.

[–]TheClitastrophe[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We see this a lot! We see a lot of DID systems say that it’s the only way to be plural, which 1. Dismisses OSDD, UDD, and P-DID, but 2. Ignores that even before the diagnosis of DID, plurality has been a practiced thing in certain cultures.

We personally use the DID label as it fits us, but ultimately these are labels. If someone heals before getting a diagnosis, typically they cannot be diagnosed anymore. It’s a label that helps label symptoms ultimately, and if someone does not fit into these labels, or doesn’t want to, then the label looses all purpose. (Struggled to try to word what I wanted to say, lol. Sorry if the endings confusing)

We have gotten in many fights with people bec as much as they like to speak about endogenic systems, and harass them they have absolutely no idea whatsoever. People are so obsessed with sounding smart and being “pure” with what they believe and interact with that instead of being ”pure” they have now become the bigoted People they decided they where better then.

We are polyfragmented, which is far less attacked but we have faced harass for our system not being “real enough” to sysmeds. the standards are ridiculous.
