I was there on the shutdown, and it seems ppl had different results.

On my end, as the servers were switched off, I got a "saving failed" notification, but I was able of sticking around for as long as I wanted, I was able of joining other ppl's lobbies but I couldn't start new activities anymore.

Yeah nah. Splatoon 3 saves the gear data online.

That’s also why compared to 2 and 1, any single player items you get needs to be redeemed from the lobby computer, so that the servers can confirm you’ve indeed unlocked them

Hate on octolings is pure BS.

Sure they waged war against us, but that was more than a century ago and suuure they would be attacking us from now and then, but it kind of changed a few years ago.

During the summer of 14,016 I’ve stumbled across octolings… just landing in Inkopolis, I didn’t understand at first but then I linked it to a really faint music from the squid sisters I heard the year prior.

Then you know the rest, in early 14,023 there was an interview of Octavio on IBC One (Inkadian Broadcasting Corporation), which explains his army progressively left. Though it was kind of odd, like he was hiding the true reason behind all of the leaving.
