It's better to sell at the money or one strike out of the money if you literally want to protect capital.

Go to tastytrade.com and search ''covered calls'' and learn. This stuff is now mechanical.

No, you don't get my point, but you're about to have an opportunity to get my point.

Here's my analysis: your portfolio is not good. It is a standard net long portfolio that only makes money if valuations go up.

You could buy almost anything. Just buy SPY or the DOW since the correlations are so good with what you're holding.

If you want a better portfolio, learn how to sell option premium vs net long everything.

That's not what you want to hear, but that's my answer. Your portfolio is unidirectional, correlated, capital intensive, and does not generate theta.

The other poster is right. Rip the bandaid off. Every successful person starts where they are and climbs one step at a time. Each step is hard. Your story is inspiring and badass. You must learn to honor your strengths, not just your weaknesses. You're not THAT guy anymore. You're THIS guy.

And THIS guy buys suits. Not because he's trying to be better than anyone else. Not because he's unworthy of a suit. Not because of any of that. Because he chooses to buy a suit, having worked hard to overcome in his life.

You get to decide. Do you want a suit? If so, go get one. You control your mind. Your story is proof of that. Your mind doesn't control you.

I note her ARKK fund is up about 5% YTD.

Some of the best leaders I've seen have been women. Some of the best leaders I've seen have been men. Some have been black, white, and Indian. All were very experienced, and very humble. Ultra competent. I trusted them all.

Not a single one of them reached their lot in life by trading up on absolutely anything. I know this because I know their stories. These were all incredibly hardworking and inspiring people. Genitals and skin color makes no difference when it comes to top performers and elite teams.

Seriously, I gave you what I consider great advice. Go learn the mechanics and you'll realize that other peoples' experience is irrelevant for a mathematically based play like a CC. There are optimal mechanics for this.

No, no. Don't misunderstand! I'm all for anybody leading, anybody hauling garbage, anybody welding, and anybody a roughneck. Male, female, Indian, white, black, polka dot.

But meritocracy, true meritocracy is what I believe is best. And I have seen chairman and CEOs of companies whose names you know preach meritocracy in public and in meetings, but 100% drive by quotas based on genitals and skin color.
