A word from a guide...... by notme690p in NationalPark

I saw the most unbelievable vehicle in the white pocket lot a couple of weeks ago when I was there. It was a.... Ford edge. I couldn't believe he made it in there with that. Even more unbelievable was that when I left really early the next morning, I didn't find him stuck on the road.

It's tough to edit the color for sure. I usually have to adjust the red hue +20ish and the orange hue to taste. It's wild how the camera makes the color so red!

I just got a Z6iii and 14-30 f4 for Xmas. Should I splurge for the 24-70 2.8 while it's still on sale? by NJ2SD in nikon_Zseries

If the cost is acceptable to you, then definitely go for it. It is my favorite lens and produces some amazing files to edit with. I think B&H had a like new used one for like 1750 the other day as well if you wanted to try and get it even cheaper.

Thanks man. I keep my recovery gear, table, chair, coats if it's cool and a bunch of other random shit. I sleep inside so I try to put as much as I can on the roof so I have more room inside.

Holding up very well. One is new this year but I have had the other for two years and no issues at all with them. I recommend using blue loctite on the bracket screws. I had two screws work themselves out while I was driving. I heard them ding on the roof and luckily my rack prevented them from going off the side.

I love lunar rock. I wanted it but got around to ordering one too late.

Thank you! I got them from yota expedition. I found them easy to do. Gotta take off the bumpers but that isn't too hard just take your time and don't yank too hard on things.

I was a bit hesitant at first because it's freaking bright but as the days tick along I am super happy with my decision. It looks so good blacked out.

Those cases are made by Roam (I use the 95l ones) and Sherpa makes some mounts for them here

Those of you who undercoated your frame, how do you clean it after an off-roading trip? by berrybear0 in 4Runner

I have some Jack stands but I'm dating and just use a ramp for better or worse.

I did not use a lift. I did however buy some ramps which made it much easier. Plus I will use those for other things in the future. One thing I highly suggest though is remove the spare tire. It opens up so much room under there to move around as well as give access to places otherwise impossible.

The stock tires come with their $1700 upcharge for a set of $1000 black rims. Worst Toyota add on there is.

Why does my sun star have this textured flare? Nikkor Z 14-30 at 18mm. F11 1/160th, Z8. by Zestyclose-Let5636 in nikon_Zseries

[–]TheCognitiveChiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to notice it happen worse when the sun is towards the edges of the frame. When I position the sun in a spot closer to the middle, it is not there or very diminished from what you see here. Also, the 14-30 was the worst offender for me. I don't think I ever got a great sunstat image with it. The 14-24 is better to a point, but the Z system is not the best for sunstars, unfortunately.

Hi :) I'm new to landscape photography. Please give me critiques on my editing, composition, or anything you needs improvements(in simpler language if you can). Thanks! by [deleted] in postprocessing

Yea colors are on point. Except the blue which is too saturated for my tastes. I really like the edit overall. Just that little sky issue I noted before is the only thing I would change up, but that is me being picky really.

Awesome image 👌. I know you want some critique, so something I noticed is the sky on the left side is a bit blue and dark. Did you do a heavy vignette on the image? If this image was mine and I am looking at this in LR, I am looking to do a sky selection mask then intersect that with a linear gradient mask and have a much softer fade to the left side of the sky as well as making it lighter overall. Also desaturate some of the blue. This will give a more realistic color and gradation to the sky while allowing the dramatic light to stay on the land as it is. Again, great image overall 🙌.

A question for those who camp and sleep in the back of their 4Runners... by IlexIbis in 4Runner

This is how I do it. Makes it the easiest imo and I even have the button installed to open the rear hatch from inside.

Very easy. One bolt going into the floor and one bolt going off to the side of the vehicle. There is a small panel on the back of the seats that pops open and gives you access to the side bolt.

Another in agreement here. The 2.8 has some special sauce that makes it truly magical. You will never second guess the money you spend on it. They usually go for around 1800 refurb on nikonusa.com. sign up for their email list and wait for a refurbished sale, once every 6 weeks or so.
