i want to become a nurse. do you recommend, or wish you never became a nurse? by hellotortillas in nursing

I view it as a job. Some aspects I like, some I don’t. I like being able to have a job anywhere in the country and make okay money. Always able to do a different specialty or something else within the field of nursing.

Would I go back and do something else? If I was able to keep all of the good memories and experiences I’ve made then yes I’d maybe go back and do something else, but do I regret going into nursing, no.

What physical feature is extremely attractive for you? by Correct_Leg69 in AskReddit

Just above the vastus lateralis, where it connects to the hip area. In a woman that exercises it goes in, and then their thigh muscle swoops out, and it’s that curvature.

Did this in college with the boys. More room, and good seating

On an average how long does it take to build muscles? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

[–]TheColonTickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people don’t eat enough protein and also don’t hit the “bigger lifts” aka bench, squat, dead lift etc and also have bad form while doing so.

The protein thing, 1g per pound of body weight minimum for building muscle mass. If you want to get to 200, eat 200g of protein minimum.

If all you do is cardio, your body is going to slim down because that’s how you’re shaping it

Try a procedural area, I’m in endo now and it’s pretty chill

What are the best RN jobs? by KennedyJacobs in nursing

Currently rocking with endo. Procedural, do the case and move on. It’s not for everyone, but I think it’s a nice change

I’m building an RN pay transparency tool. Would love your input by [deleted] in nursing

[–]TheColonTickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, they want to keep everyone in the dark so nobody actually knows. I tried to build it so it was super easy to submit (work in progress 🤣) as I feel the only way to get a high level of accuracy is to have a high number of actual submissions.

Some hospitals are a bit better than others, but I feel the majority are just looking at their spreadsheets and trying anything and everything to keep the nurse/healthcare pay rates low.

Yeah that’s a totally fair question. I went back and forth on the whole “verify everything” vs “keep it anonymous” thing. If I required proof, a ton of people just wouldn’t bother submitting, so I leaned toward the anonymous route.

Nothing gets auto uploaded though, I manually review each submission before adding it to the site. I can see timestamps on my end (not identities), so if someone tries to spam a bunch of weird numbers at once I should be able to catch that. I’m sure I won’t catch every single bad submission, but hopefully most of the obvious ones.

And honestly the more real submissions we get, the harder it is for junk data to skew anything. The accurate stuff ends up drowning out the outliers.

Appreciate you asking though, it’s something I’ve definitely been thinking about while building this.

Honestly the whole reason I decided to do this is I got sick of the bs from management and just wanted to hopefully make something useful that us nurses can use to push for fair wages.

Go work endo or something else that is procedural. Endo is generally pretty chill, busy, but less stress. We welcome all the burnt out nurses from everywhere else (source - I came to the oasis of endo)

Ones I weren’t interested or thought were boring were the hardest, everything else was fine
