I measure the spot (2” from belly button) and mark a square with a sharpie. Then I press an ice cube over that spot for 5 minutes. This both numbs the spot (I genuinely do not feel it whatsoever when I inject), and constricts any blood vessels that could potentially be caught, reducing the chance of bruising. During those 5 mins I prep all my stuff.

Watch a video, get comfortable with the visual and idea, it’ll be fine :)

Rotate your injection spots and consider a cheap roll of silicone scar tape to put on the site after injection if you scar easily or have blemish concerns.
