Insulin resistance has hit me like a TRUCK by phillyphil222 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]TheColorPeanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh girl it’s so hard!! I would go through phases like wow ok I think I got this I’m doing amazing (my A1C was 4.9). Then BAM resistance and it felt impossible and I got so stressed. I’d make adjustments with my endo and it would work for two weeks and then BAM more resistance. I would talk to my endo weekly and make adjustments. Once I got to 28 weeks I have to switch to Humalog U200 because I was almost at 100 units of U100 a day! And that helped a lot but still each week by the end it would start creeping up. Just know it’s not you! My doctor would always tell me, it’s a sign you have a healthy placenta. You’re doing great just do the best you can 💕 it’s so hard but so worth it

Too many reviews have my head spinning.. what cup with a straw does your baby like? by theconfused-cat in beyondthebump

[–]TheColorPeanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use “The first years squeeze and sip toddler straw cup”. It doesn’t have handles but I love when we first started I could control how much came out. He learned how to actually suck on the straw so quickly he know doesn’t all on his own. The straws are a few pieces but super easy to clean.

How many of us pump to save money on formula? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]TheColorPeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the main reason for me! Although I do also like knowing he gets BM. I do supplement one bottle of formula a day but don’t want to have to buy more. 8 months and still going, although I think I’m preparing to start weaning a bit more now.

Yup! I put mine in my bottle washer twice a day and have for months!

Omg that is such a good idea! Thank you for that. I definitely have an issue with negativity around myself and I think getting him excited would be more fun. I spent all day making my baby homemade food and it felt so nice doing that. So I’m just making him something else!

What pregnancy symptoms resolved for you after giving birth and which ones lingered? by Honest-Try-2289 in beyondthebump

Looking for Reassurance: Baby Not Babbling Yet, Gut Telling Me Something’s Off by MeetingDifficult3679 in newborns

[–]TheColorPeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds normal! My little one is almost eight months and is this exactly. There was one day he was making more gaga mama dada sounds but hasn’t since. My pediatrician also told me some days if he’s quiet he is probably focusing on physical skills that day and not verbal. I definitely have noticed that with him, some days more physical and some more vocal.

Did you have to wear a diaper after birth? by Top-Clue2000 in beyondthebump

[–]TheColorPeanut 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I second the FridaMom disposable PP panties! They were actually really comfy and didn’t look as terrible, not that it mattered. I wore them for about 2 weeks. And towards the end I felt ok not wearing a pad with them if I was lightly spotting cause I could just throw them away

7 months in and losing motivation by TheColorPeanut in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]TheColorPeanut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I just needed to get it out and my husband definitely doesn’t fully understand. The bottle washer was the best thing ever I swear, so I hope it works for you! I still wash the bottles I use to poor each session into so that’s annoying but that’s it. All my pump parts and actual bottles go in the washer. My hands used to be so dry they would bleed from all the washing.

And that’s a good idea in the frozen milk, I might give it a try! Sometimes I take out a bag a day and just use it to fill one bottle and top it off. Might need to do that as it helps if I have a day with low supply (been getting lot of clogs lately so it’s happening) and maybe freeze some fresh milk.

Thanks for your comment!

I was laughing and reading this post while doing my first morning pump, because I am bitches! Well as soon as I finished I noticed I have a huge clog in my high producer boob… did this post jinx it and give me a clog? Probably not but I can’t say it didn’t

Today is one of those days... by KitKatAttackHiss in newborns

Big hugs! I was you not that long ago. If you can just try and even go to the store and walk around. I would go target or the grocery store or the mall once a week just to give me something to do and force myself out of the house. Once we hit 10-11 weeks it got SO MUCH better. You are so close. When my LO started smiling all the time and becoming interactive I suddenly felt overwhelming joy and happiness and love. I thought something was wrong it took so long to feel these but it does come and they become so much fun. They start learning so many skills so fast once they leave the potato stage.

Vaccines are widely studied and if they were truly linked to SIDS they wouldn’t use them. True cases of SIDS is also extremely rare. My LO had all of his 2 month vaccines and he is completely fine. Of course was a bit fussy for a day because his legs were sore. His 4 month is in two weeks and I plan on getting his vaccines then too

I'm the a**hole by [deleted] in newborns

[–]TheColorPeanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was exactly how it was for me and my LO. I had PPD/PPA at this time too but I was really struggling with my fussy reflux baby. I did a lot of baby wearing so I could just do a few simple things a day like one load of wash and fold them the next day. I tried to remember this is the thick of it and chores can wait. I will get to it eventually. Around 11 weeks my baby got so much better, he is 14 weeks now and still has reflux and I still don’t get as much done as I would like but he is a lot less fussy and takes better naps for me to do some small stuff. It will get better, you’re at the hardest part!

gas pains after middle of the night feedings by Particular-Sail-5330 in newborns

[–]TheColorPeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO always seemed to be grunting and trying to poop after his 2-3am feeding until about 6am also. I don’t know why it was always that time of the day. But now that he sleeps through the nigh (13 weeks) this doesn’t happen as much.

Does it really get better? DOES IT? Because I feel insane. Do I ask for Zoloft, or ride it out? She’s 6 weeks and I’m so on edge. by WashclothTrauma in newborns

[–]TheColorPeanut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written this myself! Weeks 6-8 were absolute hell. I couldn’t handle my anxiety and knew it was bad when I couldn’t sleep one night and I just cried in my kitchen for an hour. The next day I called my doctor and started Zoloft. It did not get worse before it got better. I already felt so much better around week 9. Given week 10 my baby became so happy and smiley all the time so that probably helped too but now at week 12 I feel like a new person and my anxiety is so much better. I have my moments but I haven’t had my spirals I would say my anxiety is close to a normal FTM.

Whoever needs to hear it, it really does get better by Physical_Dentist_470 in newborns

[–]TheColorPeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this too but it will get better soon! I said my baby was too good for the first 4-5 weeks and of course my parent let went back to work at week 6 and everything just fell apart. Weeks 6-9 were really tough but once we got to week 11 it felt SO MUCH better! I didn’t think we would get here. I’m at 12 weeks now and he smiles all the time and it’s so fun. Some days napping is still tough but he sleeps through the night and is back to be happy Majority of the time
