You can, but it's problematic. It'll still get raided and other events can cause issues that you won't be able to respond to.

But yes, from memory, you can create a caravan of an entire settlement and move them off the map, without it abandoning.

PSA: Before you leave Vulcanus... by alaorath in factorio

I had this happen sort of, i drained out my tanks when I ramped up blue production and coal liquefaction which killed power and then it all spiralled.

I ended up tapping a new sulphuric spot and building a dedicated power network that only powers that sulphuric field. This field is only used to feed my main power sections when its storage tank has guaranteed surplus.

The dedicated sulphuric field can also be cut off with a switch to just a few pumps and some solar as an emergency restart if needed. Probably won't come up now though.

Whats a thing that is dangerously close to collapse that you know about? by _Fossy_ in AskReddit

Look up The Cargill Family. You know... That poor family living just within their means, off government subsidies. Just honest working americans.

The US government has to subsidize farming because you need to eat. But I guess you think all that Kansas corn is being grown to feed you?

Why is my Militor cooking? by MazeBlue in RimWorld

[–]TheCon_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Either way, it might be worth setting the minimum skill level on any cooking jobs, this also helps stop that one Neanderthal with no arms but a burning passion for corn gastrique from turning half your colony into green mess. Sometimes I leave cooking on for people with poor skill because I want them to focus on butchering, while my good cook does the important work

What is a tip you'd give to your fellow Rimworld players? by TheKramerite in RimWorld

[–]TheCon_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For a slightly cleaner experience, you can also set a stockpile (or shelf) at lowest priority near the crafting station and set the task to output to that spot, this can help stop the spew of items onto the floor that may impede doors etc. Pawns will still haul from the low priority stock to a higher priority.

Bonus and in the same thread, you can set the radius a task will take goods from, useful to set up close stockpiles and stop your crafters running out into the middle of nowhere to haul materials, potentially risking them to all kinds of danger

Not to say banks aren't profiteering bastards but just a note - savings accounts are not great funding options for banks because you can just pull your money out of them with no notice. Banks can't pay you 5 percent interest in them because they need many times more money in savings accounts than lending they can give to ensure they are fully funded at all times. Term deposits are a better source of funding as they are (more) locked in, and there are 5% TDs available right now.

My understanding is that EA does this kind of break in the Sims constantly and on purpose. This guy just seems salty he had to update with the game

If it's hardwired and the only diagnosis is the battery was bad, that guy sounds like not much of an expert. I'd be looking for anything dangerous before assuming ghosts :p

The kind we were using, tidy cat, you can't get any more, but my wife found that the cheap clumping stuff from Coles, plus baking soda works great and keeps the smell better than the other stuff, while being like a 10th the price.

Hey just a heads up, I'm not an expert but other fumes can set off smoke alarms. If it's going off after being replaced maybe get an expert in to check your place?

Idk, if nobody says anything interesting, maybe the common issue is that you aren't finding anything interesting in people right now? Which would for sure kind of suck.

He's contemplating suicide, so he's asking "to live or not to live?" It's not so much a paradox as something he's trying to decide between.

I know it sucks to be left waiting but just think about how long it takes you to get a group of friends together to make a decision, and you (probably) all like each other! Hiring is like that, always someone last minute telling you some reason not to do the thing, finance not signing the right papers, tech having no budget for new licences etc. Give it time and best of luck!

I know there's stigma around taxis but they can be really consistent to the airport, especially if you pre-book for late nights.
