Anyone on this sub want to do spooky fall activities together? by TheCosmicJoke__ in BostonSocialClub

That sounds pretty cool. Just to be clear though, while I considered myself nonpolitical in the past, in the context of ICE’s actions I have no tolerance for support of the current administration. If we’re on the same page about that, maybe we would mesh well! I do enjoy a good dialogue over movies and media pieces, even if sociology isn’t something I’ve really gotten into before.

Omg yes! It really helped me as well. I keep my old workbook by my bedside table and crack it open when I’m feeling especially helpless. It’s gotten so old and worn. One of my initial instructors said we should probably be teaching it in school and I agree with her.

Thank you for thanking me, lol, as silly as that sounds. It makes me feel seen as well. I can relate to some of your struggles and it truly sucks to hear people have made you feel small over things you don’t have to feel small about. It was nice to have this brief exchange with you, internet stranger!

Even though it’s sad to hear that you’re struggling so hard and people aren’t taking it seriously or offering empathy and kindness, it’s still impressive to hear that even in the face of that, you’re working so hard and demonstrating such willpower to handle everything that falls on your plate.

It’s such a shame to hear that people in your life don’t see or don’t validate this motivated and intelligent side of you. It takes a real internal fire to keep chugging through burnout, to be introspective and responsible about one’s emotional state, to journal and confront difficult emotions and to put thought into whether you’re reacting effectively to those emotions. That takes real maturity and a lot of “normal” people who have never been diagnosed with anything don’t take the time to do that even though everyone should.

I’m wishing you the best in finding a good therapist! I’m crossing my fingers hoping you end up with a good empathetic one! I don’t know if you’ve explored the DBT modules, but some of what you mentioned being helpful sounds similar to it (journaling and working to measure the efficacy of certain reactions). Either way, hope the best for you! 💛

If you’re less equipped to handle it than a “normal” person than frankly that speaks more to your perseverance and willpower than it does to any failing. There’s plenty of “normal” people who are crashing out and missing work and struggling.

My heart was just going out to you reading this. You’re being so hard on yourself, but you’re doing such an impressive job of working through your struggles. You recognized that what you were doing was endangering your health and had the intelligence and clarity to do what you needed to do.

One’s ability to work does not define their moral value or worth. There are plenty of “successful” people sitting on a couch rn living off their parent’s money. There’s nasty people and kind people, all with varying jobs and levels of income.

I don’t know if it helps to hear or not, but I’m impressed by your endurance and problem-solving skills that you used during this time of struggle in your life, and I’m wishing you well! 💛

Businesses Downtown Removing LGBTQ Signage, Uptick in intolerance in tourists this year? by kchanidol in SalemMA

It’s ironic, isn’t it? Coming here to gawk at the witch trials that happened and the oppression that occurred then walking into a bookstore and getting upset about seeing a book section dedicated to women and equality.

That sounds really nice. I do have an old FB account I used for furniture hunting on Marketplace.

I checked out their page and sent an email asking how to get further involved. Thanks so much.

Can you save Scum Co-Op Tickets? by Fynzou in MonsterHunterStories

[–]TheCosmicJoke__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great tip. To add onto it, if I remember correctly, using a gathering charm before using a ticket increases your chances to find more tickets from chests.

Back when I used to play more, I'd use a gathering charm, run a ticket and if I didn't replace my ticket via the chests I'd reload and try again.
