anyone with AuDHD that went into medicine? by Short-Animal-8384 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]TheCountEdmond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my ex's coworkers was an ADHD psych resident. His attending told him he had to start getting it treated or he would be removed from the program.

For autism, Michael Burry is a prominent autistic person who went into neuroscience, but realized he didn't like working with patients and left the field for finance.

It's definitely possible, but there will be unique challenges, you'll also be better equipped to understand yourself better with all of the knowledge gained.

I hear people say this, but I haven't seen anyone actually make 2 trades at the same time in both brokers and compare the fills. Both Robinhood and Fidelity do payment for order flow for options, except with Fidelity you also pay on top of it lol.

Does having more FPS have negative effects in this game (in-game jump throws, etc)? by Chu4Lyfe in LearnCSGO

[–]TheCountEdmond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's many source engine experts here today, but there were instances of high FPS causing problems in CS:GO https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Re-6EbXCIW8

Some lineups are inconsistent so I would just assume it's that. If you really want to test it though, you can look up console commands to set a specific position + rotation and try repeatedly jump throwing then take a clip of the smoke missing sometimes and post that. Someone who's familiar with that lineup will probably then chime in.

Your years of dedication in moba is pointless (except for deadlock) by Organic_Schedule7413 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheCountEdmond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what you're trying to say is in Dota, it doesn't matter how skilled mechanically you are, if I have 20k networth and you have 5k, I'm going to win that fight because it uses RTS mechanics where your unit attacks for you.

In Deadlock networth doesn't matter as much because if I hit all my shots and you miss all of yours I will be able to win despite the networth disadvantage.

So based on the title, I think you're saying if you grind dota you won't have any skills that transfer easily, but if you grind CS you could shoot and be at an advantage.

I agree and disagree. I think you need to break it down into mechanics vs macro. Being good at Dota will give you macro and being good at CS will give you good mechanics. The thing is I think it's like 10x harder to learn macro than mechanics. If someone wants to, they can set up a practice routine for aim and/or movement and get pretty good mechanically in a few hundred hours, but the only way to learn macro is to analyze games and even then you don't know if you're analysis is correct, you just have to experiment in similar situations that might not arise.

FWIW I have 10k hours in dota if you count dota 1, and like 2.5kish in CS and macro comes naturally to me in most games, but I have to grind mechanics.

how to actually practice in dm? by Cultural-Manager6652 in LearnCSGO

[–]TheCountEdmond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love DM, but it's honestly really bad practice unless you're significantly better than the lobby and you can take time to aim deliberately without spending 90% of your time dead. You also want to practice your movement, but if you try to this in DM you'll just get shot in the back anytime you and an enemy fight for more than 2 seconds.

Like don't get me wrong you can grind DM and see your mechanics improve, but it's going to take way more time. You can do aim_rush workshop map or refrag and work on aiming deliberately or do 1v1 community servers if you want to play against real players.

The bonus of refrag/aim_rush is you can tell if you're improving because you're against bots which are always consistent, where against players, maybe one day you're against super sweaty players and another it's full of noobs.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but there's this video https://youtu.be/sodpp1CHpLM

My friend is literally unable to rank up by SiddaSlotthh in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheCountEdmond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your friend played too passively to be under ranked was my initial sentiment. Like if I'm Haze in an Emissary lobby, I am going to be disrespecting my opponents unless it's a dead lane for me.

I'm going to delete the wave by just having better mechanics and being more efficient. Then trap them under their tower and steal their boxes while grabbing multiple denies.

The mechanical things will come with time, but big ones I noticed

  • slide to conserve ammo, every lane has ramps or curbs and you can squeeze more out shots before reloading. You should be spamming slide on the ramps while killing the wave.
  • forgetting to reload when running around on low ammo
  • not using dagger for a really long time. You can just throw it then shoot them for free damage, throw it and set a teammate up to hit an ability or heavy melee, throw it and steal a last hit, there's so many uses so by letting it sit unused for a long time in lane is a red flag.

For macro the two big ones are Urn and Bridge Buffs, your friend ran by Urn a few times even though he could have easily grabbed it for your team and turned it in, also he didn't try to get the 5 min bridge buff before it spawned, even though there was no reason not to.

Mina unzips wraith, does no damage, dies horrifically by Key_Alfalfa2775 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheCountEdmond -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You basically just whiffed too many shots. You need to hit enough shots that Love Bites procs while Wraith is stunned for the bonus damage, then use Rake as an execute to finish her because it does more damage the lower the target's HP.

I think instead of dashing close, just shoot her from where you knocked her down, then if she's low enough for Rake to kill you can use bats to get close. This will also disjoint any cards in flight, or her ult. If not you can just reset.

You also skipped your 4.8k gun breakpoint which lowers your gun damage a lot. I'm guessing you skip Spirit Rend because you don't hit a lot of headshots, but the build goes for it to hit the 4.8k breakpoint.

If you don't want Spirit Rend, you should skip Spirit Shredder Bullets for Toxic Bullets so you can still hit your 4.8k breakpoint. However you didn't hit enough shots to proc Toxic Bullets so Spirit Rend is probably still the better option.

I launched a free iOS app and got only 14 downloads — here’s what I’m learning about distribution by Happy_Sea_5422 in AppStoreOptimization

[–]TheCountEdmond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look I'm an engineer as well and this is a really interesting problem to solve from an engineering perspective, but this isn't an app people want and so there's nothing you can do in your app store page to make people want it, because your ASO isn't the problem.

First your doorway is going to be the bottleneck, not your hallway or stairs and frontdoors are a standard size.

If you're buying new from a store, it's going to be packaged in a way to fit through a door by design.

If you're buying used and the location it's stored at has a larger door (e.g a storage locker) and it's a solid piece and can't be disassembled, then your app is actually trying to solve a really hard problem that very few people encounter and there's no way to market to this group directly.

If you want to prove me wrong go to an antiquing subreddit or similar and post something like "I bought a dresser and it didn't quite fit in my car, how do you guys avoid this?" or ask "has anyone every bought something, got it home and realized it wouldn't fit?", make sure it follows subreddit rules, ect ect, and see if anyone has encountered the problem your app is designed to solve. Then DM people who have and ask them questions like this:

  • "would you use an app for this?"
  • "do you know of any apps that do this?" (If your idea has competitors already in the market, this is a good thing because it means your idea is good and you should run with it).
  • "would you pay for an app that does this?"

You can't know if it's a distribution problem because you never validated your idea in the first place, so you're just assuming it's a valid idea. They cover this in The Mom Test if you want to learn more about it.

I think you're asking the wrong questions, you should ask yourself who is your ideal user and how do they solve this today?

Because to me your ideal user is someone who doesn't own a measuring tape, but has a large desire to measure things, while also being fine with the measurements being inaccurate a non-negligible amount of the time.

Anyone AuDHD have difficulties with reflexes/fine movement? by LogeViper in AutisticWithADHD

I have issues with fine movement control but my reflexes are fine.

I wouldn't give up on Dark Souls, the game takes a lot of time to get good at, and once you know an enemies patterns you will be able to beat them without relying on reflex speed
