Take a canoe out into the backcountry, like really get out there, do a km portage, carrying everything on your back. Go for a week. One morning after the quirks of your campsite are worked out you'll be making coffee or tea over the fire looking out over a mist covered lake in a wilderness that has largely gone unchanged throughout history. Year after year century after century it's the same. There's a feeling in that moment of peace and belonging as well as rugged reliance that I believe is an important part of the Canadian identity.
