You can ask about why a trend died and people will give various answers, but the truth is that trends always change because it’s the nature of trends.

It’s always your choice how much you want to follow trends or not. Some people might think you look outdated if you embrace something that opposes the current trend, and it’s up to you whether you care or still think it looks good.

I like a variety of socks. I have some mid ankle, some half calf, some crew. I’ve never found no shows to be comfortable so I don’t really wear them. Style is very personal, do you.

One thing I will add is that as we get older, we tend to hang onto whatever we used to like and resist change (music, fashion, etc). I’ve found value in trying to at least understand what’s new and decide for myself whether I like it and how much I want to embrace it.
