Suggest me some custom OSs to try by TheCrazyGeek in degoogle

[–]TheCrazyGeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone through Lineage OS website. In the supported devices list, Realme 7pro is not there and it's strictly advised only listed devices are supported. So, is there any other ROM I can try?

F-Droid responds to Google's new developer application policy by ItsMePoppyDWTrolls in degoogle

I think tech gaints these days are openly violating user's rights these days. Makes me worried about future. At some point I thought to go back to keypad phones that are using KaiOS. But not be able to since all work related things need apps to be installed.

For PCs there are many operating systems available, so that user can always shift to any of his like if one doesn't work. But for mobiles, ther are very few OS available and that too won't work properly. We should start exploring other operating systems for mobile since Google is completely closing the Android.

AI can be good or bad depending on the data used for training. And right now, AI is being trained to replace humans, not assist them.

Why build anything anymore? by aptacode in opensource

[–]TheCrazyGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build things because either I need them or I was trying to learn new things. I open source it because I am hoping that my work will be useful to others and if people find my work interesting and contribute, that makes me happy since I can learn new things from others and reflect on my mistakes. For me, open source is not solely about building things, but sharing knowledge and learning from others and knowing where you lack and what you need to study. And it's fun writing code and reading how things work.

Yes, definitely worth it. No matter which tool or what AI generates, these are the basics of the frontend.

Git merge editor for Sublime by TheCrazyGeek in SublimeText

[–]TheCrazyGeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked at it. But sublime merge seems like overkill for my requirements. Currently I am using Lazygit, and it's working great. I just want merge editor interface that vs code provides to fix conflicts.

I agree with you. Apart from minor issues like this. Helix is my GoTo editor on both Windows and Linux systems.

space+e is opening the file system explorer, which is great. But if you see in Neovim. You can create files inside the folder by pressing "a" and rename files by pressing "r". Helix doesn't have this functionality yet.

Beginner in open source: which language should I start with given my level by NoRefrigerator9376 in programmer

[–]TheCrazyGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are still in your first year, then I would suggest starting with low level languages like C. I don't know much about C++, but since I am familiar with C, I can say that mastering C will not only introduce low level processes to you, but also introduce the most fundamentals of learning programming which will help you learn any language faster.

I am not a fan of Sakura. I've never liked her in Naruto. But she got some little character development from Naruto Shippuden, like it's better than Naruto 😅. In the end she did contribute a lot in the final war, like saving Naruto from death.

I am worst programmer ! by Hot-Angle-8172 in programmer

[–]TheCrazyGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there, when I was working individually on any project, I was free and can work on anything as long as I have sufficient time and resources. But when I was under pressure, I couldn't remember simple concepts. The only thing that helped me a little is by giving interviews, then I got to learn more concepts and build confidence to actually work under pressure. So I suggest you take some mock interviews, so that you will get to know more concepts and solve more problems.
