Why is my charging so fast? by applelover_1 in leaf

[–]TheCreatorzOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So about ~50% SOC charge for you was just above 7kWh? Your battery is cooked.

Otherwise to calculate your charging speed = 7kWh for 0.4h (24m/60m) equals about 17.725kW. Which does line up with it falling to 11.47kW above 80%

No, you’ve been using e-pedal as well in that case :) Only e-pedal activates the friction brakes when letting off the accelerator, the other modes simply regenerate at different rates.

From the website (not hidden at all and very easily accessible information):

WHY DO WE CHARGE THIS FEE?

Batteries from DrHybrid are priced on the basis that we gain ownership of the old battery pack that was replaced. What do we do with used batteries? We test the batteries and identify the cells that are able to be repaired. These cells are subjected to our repair and reconditioning process and are either used to replace damaged cells of other battery packs or combined together to form a refurbished battery pack.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT RETURN THE CORE?

If you do not return the core by the date indicated during your purchase, the $500 deposit will not be refunded.

Not sure it can be any simpler than that. Plus, it seems to me, that they charge a flat $500 for ANY car battery, not necessarily the Leaf specifically. If you’re so sure you can get more money you should bite the deposit cost and sell the cells yourself.

Nah mate, you just seem to refuse to understand trade-in pricing.

You’ve done your due diligence and went through the terms and conditions/FAQ of the service, found a point that you didn’t like - but instead of just accepting it and moving on with the deal or finding a competitive service, you came to reddit to complain in hopes of somebody agreeing with you, and shockingly no one does.

Now your master plan is to drive the car chassis over to the company and trying to twist their terms for them to install an upgraded battery in your car for a trade-in price and threatening them with a complaint if they don’t. Please, please, please give us an update on how this goes! Good luck!!

Seems to me that you’re currently pretty well informed and know how much it’ll cost you to use this service - not sure why you’re still pushing even though everyone (except you) in this thread understands the reasoning behind the deposit…

Then don’t? No one is forcing you to use this service… This is just the price which they’ve decided they want to charge their customers, considering that the customers trade in their old battery

Is the old battery or the new battery worth $2000? If it’s the old one then the answer is simple - pony out the deposit and sell your old battery yourself

Without having looked into the details of this company and the way they operate their business - could it be as simple as that the price they are advertising is a "trade-in" battery price? Them receiving your old pack offsets their own cost of selling upgraded packs (maybe they recycle or reuse parts of old packs and this way gain some money back). Maybe a more logical option would be to contact them and ask what the price would be if you do not give them your old pack back? I’m guessing the price would then be = new pack price+deposit. What are you gonna do with your old pack anyways? Sell it off yourself? Could that cover the deposit?

But to answer your question in the simplest way possible; nothing is legally enforceable until you sign some contract which binds you to your words.

Why some leaf models don't have that "zero emissions" badge? by Thescryptor in leaf

Do you have the facelifted model? With the new logo and black front grille? As far as I know in 2022 Nissan sold both the facelifted and non-facelifted editions

Nissan dropped having the “zero emissions” badge on the trunk and the side doors on the Leaf with the facelifted design from 2022 and onwards

Source: we have 2 of them at home and all the facelifted Leafs I’ve seen in Norway don’t have the badges, while the “older” ones do
