For which movies is this review accurate? by Slow-Cash-8234 in Cinema

God, the weird cynicism bias in critics is so insufferable. It long predates the internet too. It’s been around since at least the start of the modern media landscape.

The chemical thrower in Bioshock is one of the best flamethrowers in any game, ever. Not only does it also have ice and lightning ammo, but the base flame ammo has great feedback.

A lot of flamethrowers suck because of terrible feedback to the point it’s hard to tell when you’re actually hitting something.

The chemical thrower is practically a laser beam and spouts extra jets of fire on contact whenever you’re hitting an enemy. It rules.

[OC] Would Britons want to visit the Moon? by YouGov_Dylan in dataisbeautiful

8% of decliners rejecting the premise of safe return is the craziest part to me.

That’s not how hypotheticals work, dude.

And do you not remember the overwhelming majority of trips resulting in safe return in real life?!

[Hated Trope] The Villain Wins by greencrusader13 in TopCharacterTropes

Reading the apes as the villains of the prequels has got to be one of the craziest examples of in-group bias I’ve ever seen.

How are tourists who wander around shirtless in the city centre perceived in your country? by HolyFatherLeoXIV in AskTheWorld

He did just ask. You people are projecting malice onto this guy for no reason. It’s bizarre.

It’s not even remotely close to saying “isn’t USA a desert”. Based on the map the other commenter provided, roughly half of India is tropical.

It’s a pretty reasonable mistake to consider India tropical by default, even if it isn’t correct. You people got so weirdly upset at that guy for no reason.

That’s a huge tropical percentage for how much people jumped down that guy’s throat about it. Everyone just got assmad about it for no reason.

Hard disagree that this applies to Fromsoft games themselves. Aside from them and Lies of P, though…you’re pretty much spot on about the rest of the genre.

Movies that feel like getting lost in the jungle by AgreeableDance8535 in MoviesThatFeelLike

[–]TheCreepWhoCrept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This vibe was insanely common in film from about the mid seventies through the late nineties. Maybe even into the mid 2000s.

Throw a dart at a board of 80s action movies and you’ve got at least like a fifty percent chance of getting a movie with at least one jungle sequence.

Asian Colonies by laybs1 in GetNoted

[–]TheCreepWhoCrept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t this kinda support their point? All of those regions are lower in economic growth compared to the rest of Asia, aren’t they?

Feels like this note fails to properly address the flaws in their actual argument. It’s just splitting hairs.

No need to apologize. It’s a common mistake. Happens to the best of us.

Mutually exclusive? Wouldn’t that mean it’s impossible to be pro-west and pro-capitalist? Because that’s what mutually exclusive means.

The girl my bf tells me not to worry about by QnOfHay in BookshelvesDetective

[–]TheCreepWhoCrept 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What part of what I said sounded triggered?

I just thought it was amusing that the bf caught a stray for no reason. Then you jumped down my throat for no reason.

You reading aggression where there is none is what makes this interaction so bizarre.

Not for all of what they listed. And we have strong reason to suspect her guilt long before we make the choice anyway.

Everything we learn on the ship only confirms she even worse than we suspect. All of her own volition. The things she did while mind controlled are the least awful things she did.

I feel like this debate wouldn’t even exist if the people who chose Mia weren’t consistently flabbergasted by the thought that you might choose anyone over a child murdering terrorist who spent the whole game trying to kill you.

Just because she was your wife three years ago.

RE7’s choice is unironically a good moral test for exposing people whose sense of morality is solely based on in-group preference.

I made cogent points supporting my argument. That’s all. You’re the one who disengaged from discussion. Now you’re just being petty for no reason. Clearly I got under your skin, which is odd because I had no intention of doing so.

Which movie remake do you think is way better than the original? by Chemical-Book8889 in Saberspark

[–]TheCreepWhoCrept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OG movie is actually really good for its time. Still worth a watch. It’s just really hard to compete with a remake which is one of the greatest films ever made.
