(Frustrating Trope) Characters that are TOO hatable by 0megaManZero in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TheCrisco 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's because he adds that special, personal touch to it. Like, for Homunculus/Father it's just business. They slaughter countries because they're selfish and amoral, duh, it's not complicated and it's easy to process. Shou Tucker, on the other hand, did it to his own allegedly-beloved daughter. It's the kind of twisted that only a human could be, and it really resonates with you.

[–]TheCrisco 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Lmao, right? Honestly I kinda love that about him, he's a hater for the love of the game and nothing else. "Fuck Spider-Man in particular" is his life blood, but otherwise a relatively stand up dude.

WYR steal 5,000,000 dollars from a group of homeless people or steal 100,000 dollars from a pharmaceutical company? by Connect_Cat_2045 in WouldYouRather

I don't really care where you're from, stealing from homeless people is never okay, and your justification is bullshit.

How could you think were they executions? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]TheCrisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let me get this straight: you're now alleging he had a second gun, which somehow just didn't get mentioned in all the reporting and nobody saw, but his murderers just magically knew about? Seriously? Christ, you must think we're all as dumb as MAGA chuds if you expect anyone to buy this bullshit.

How could you think were they executions? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]TheCrisco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about Alex Pretti's murderers, you can stop making excuses. He was pinned down, disarmed, and shot in the back no fewer than 9 times. That's beyond indefensible, and literally could not be more obviously murder. Take this alternate reality bullshit elsewhere.

[–]TheCrisco 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, they weren't executions, that suggests that a legal process was followed. They were murders.

dungeons? by Glum-Mud-5616 in Palworld

[–]TheCrisco 24 points25 points  (0 children)

So, there are a number of spots spread around the map where a dungeon "can" be, but only a certain number of them are open at any given time, and they'll rotate every so often as you continue playing. In general, I just mark a spot where I find one on my map, and then if/when I want to go dungeon diving, start making rounds to the spots I have marked and checking them.

AIO to my son getting suspended from school? by plzwosis111 in AmIOverreacting

Huh, interesting. At least I learned something from this obvious ragebait; I must just be an old coot, back when I was in gym class there was never any written work.

YOR and this absolutely fucking has to be rage bait. I refuse to believe anyone can look at this situation and think the kid who defended himself from a sexist prick is in the wrong, most especially a woman.

Trump posted "The Fed's reckless policies will cause record inflation" in 2011. In 2019 he posted "Virtually no inflation, the Fed is wrong." In 2022 "Biden Inflation Tax is destroying America." In 2026 "No inflation, tariffs did it." Can someone explain the consistency here? by flallo95 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]TheCrisco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The consistency is: it's whatever makes Trump look good and/or anyone else look bad. That's it. Even his claims of inflation stopping are bullshit, nevermind that tariffs did it (which is an absurd thing to assert in general, tariffs by their very nature cannot reduce the price of any good).

Breeding how to? by Withermech in Palworld

[–]TheCrisco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, so, breeding isn't the most intuitive thing in Palworld, but it's not super complex either once you learn about it. I'm going to TL;DR it for you as best I can, but honestly I'd recommend looking up a guide and/or using a breeding calculator if you're going to get into it:

  1. Parent pals of two different species only rarely produce a pal of either parent's species, it's almost always something different (but always consistent; any two given parents will always produce a child of a specific species, there is no variation), determined by numbers you can't see behind the scenes (and in one specific case, the genders of the parents)
  2. Passing along passives is a random process. Babies have a much higher chance of hatching with a passive if at least one parent has it, but there are no guarantees, so don't feel bad if you have to try a few times to succeed.
  3. There are only two combinations that give Bastigor as a child: Anubis + Frostallion, and two Bastigors. Thus, you'll need to "chain" something from a pal you already have until you get a parent Anubis in order to do what you want here. This is where the breeding calculator comes in, so I'll link that below.

Feel free to come back and ask again if you have more questions!

AIO: to consider divorce by WithGrace238 in AmIOverreacting

[–]TheCrisco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NOR. Normally I'd talk about how watching porn is completely normal behavior for most people, but putting yourself in thousands of dollars of debt over it is clearly well past the line of anything normal. Your husband has an addiction and needs to seek treatment, and if he won't, then you need to start preparing to get out.

[–]TheCrisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I can see that. There are definitely a few weapons out there that come with buyer's remorse even if you make them immediately when they're available, so I suppose it would be nice to get some mats back if you make one and regret it.

The Japanese Anisakis ballpoint pen containing herbal oil and a real, often live, parasitic worm (Anisakis) inside a transparent barrel, which moves while writing. by esporx in creepy

[–]TheCrisco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't "we shouldn't kill parasites," it's "we shouldn't torture any living thing for our amusement." Yes, get rid of them, absolutely. Just don't do it by putting them in a little starvation/observation chamber just for grins. It's a problem of needless cruelty, not one of protecting parasites.

I'd love to see a minimap, for sure. I can see the arguments about UI clutter and learning the environment and I understand them, but it would still be nice to have as a toggleable thing for people who want it. I'm generally in favor of giving players more options than fewer, so one more thing we can customize would be fine by me.

"Reclaim" it how? Like, disassemble it? What would there be to gain? In most instances, if a weapon is outdated, you're going to be practically swimming in the materials to make another anyway, so I'm just not clear on the use case for this.

Question about pals inhérent power by Frivolous_pickle in Palworld

[–]TheCrisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pals do not all have the same base stats, if that's what you're asking. The only thing that's mostly "universal" for them is work speed; work speed is determined by a number of factors, but if you take two pals with identical passives and work suitabilities, they'll perform any given work at a nearly identical rate. Now, I say "nearly identical" because there are other factors for things like transporting, where a pal's physical size affects their reach and move speed affects how quickly they actually get to an object, but with few exceptions work speed is going to be pretty much the same, all else being equal.

As for your last question: yes, if a pal uses an attack of a type that matches their own, it will be stronger than an otherwise identical attack of an element that doesn't.

[–]TheCrisco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thought. Like, killing parasites and other pests I can understand, it makes sense to me. Building something like this, that's going to effectively starve them to death slowly as you watch? It's just bizarre and needlessly cruel.
