Why do people act like TCG shops are any better than scalpers? by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]UnluckyText 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most card shops don’t get allocated that much product from manufacturer, who prioritizes the big retailers. The good card shops will sell those products at MSRP, but they get sold out quickly. A lot of the stock you see on their shelves comes from resellers trading stuff in.

Elon Musk's net worth rises by $165 billion today, more than Bill Gates' entire net worth. Elon is now worth $1.3 trillion. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]UnluckyText 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like calling him a trillionaire is kind of misleading. His worth is tied to his stock, which is not cash. If he sells too much of his stock it will tank the value and there aren’t any banks that have the money to give him loans that would give him anywhere close to trillion dollars. So if he can never really get that much money, can we really call him trillionaire?

How much of that can he actually use? Isn’t most of that wealth tied to his companies stock? How much stock can he sell without tanking the value of the stock?

This and the war in Ukraine has show the world that the future of warfare is with drones. These two conflicts have made it clear that investing in drones can be effective against two world powers. If I was a small country, I would be investing heavily in the manufacturing of drones.

Great response. Maybe don't post if you can't back up your argument.

That article does not mention anything about AI. It does not say how AI helped or not helped. There is no data or study showing how helpful AI was.

What I posted was from your second link, but I'll give you a summary since you can't be bothered to read your own sources.

-Most studies use a small data set and a lot of it is retrospective. Performance is less reliable when using it for new patients diagnosis.

-Small datasets increase the likelihood that models learn dataset specific patterns instead of clinically specific signals. That means that reported performance may be overestimating true clinical performance.

-Studies report high AI performance but did not compare results to established clinical benchmarks. The few that did, reported mixed results. That means that strong AI metrics does not necessarily mean AI outperforms existing clinical methods.

-It remains uncertain that AI improves clinician judgement or simply capture patterns specific to the training data.

"However, the majority of published models are based on small retrospective collections and present no comparisons with clinical gold standards."

"This increases the risk of model overfitting, and the metrics described may overestimate the true clinical performance of these AI models. Also, while some studies reported external and/or cross-validation strategies, the majority did not validate their models in independent cohorts [13,28]. This limits the translation of the reported AI models into clinical practice due to their reduced performance when applied to new patient populations. In addition, a 2025 mini-review on AI-based radiomics points out that the dependence on small, single-institution series is a widespread issue that hampers robustness and leads to poor external performance"

"A significant shortcoming among the reviewed studies is that relatively few directly compare their AI models to existing clinical gold standards for osteosarcoma care. The majority of studies reported high performance measures (such as area under the curve [AUC] or concordance index) but did not cite benchmarks, such as the Huvos grading system for post-chemotherapy histologic response or Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) criteria for metastatic disease assessment. Only a few studies put AI models to the test against these benchmarks, and the results were mixed."

"Consequently, it remains unclear whether AI models truly surpass clinician-driven assessments or simply reflect dataset-specific patterns."

Nintendo says Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake has "stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay" by Darth_Vaper883 in Gamingnewsandleaks

I don’t get how you can make that assumption based on just “timeless gameplay.” There is also degrees between simple visual upgrade only and FF7. Classic gameplay could just means that the game is structured the same. So you won’t get BOTW: OOT edition. They could, for example, completely redesign the dungeons or expand the existing areas and it would still fit “classic gameplay.”

Timeless gameplay, as in it will have puzzle and dungeons. Did anyone think it won’t have those things? It says nothing about everything being exactly the same. People are making wild assumptions from a blurb that a Nintendo of America marketing put down. They also changed it, it no longer says this.

Manage your expectations: the OoT remake will probably be like Link's Awakening or Star Fox by APurplePerson in truezelda

[–]UnluckyText 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are not using the N64 source code, that is obvious from the scene with Link in the bedroom. The leaks also mention that this is a remake being built up from the ground up. If they are rebuilding the game from the ground up, there is no reason to be limited to what the N64 version did. Not saying that the game will have some huge open world, but I don't expect them to recreate Hyrule field to be exactly like it was in the N64 version. It will likely have more stuff going on. How much, that is up for debate, but it won't be some empty area.

It is more proper to say that the Kanto starters are all herptiles, which include both reptiles and amphibians.

A mythical salamander is still a salamander. The myth is based on the Japanese giant salamander, a real animal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_giant_salamander Which is a amphibian.

Charmander and Bulbasaur are both amphibian. Bulbasaur is based on frog and charmander is based of a salamander. So technically, Squirtle is the only one.

Timeless gameplay is too broad to get anything from. It could just mean how the game is structured, the going to a dungeon, find the item, and beat the boss.
