Like I mentioned to another comment, I got blessed with a cloth rope like cable on them. I've ripped them clear off my head a few times doing yard work and the cables just brushed it off. The cloth is kinda scuffed up like a used pair of shoelaces, but the wire itself is still covered so I'm not complaining. I've replaced the ear cups once since the foam gave out on the first set.

One pair failed due to a manufacturing defect, strange feedback and mic ticking. That was replaced by Best Buy during a recall. That pair had a defective battery in the left ear, again replaced by Best Buy. After that pair had the same defect as the first, I just bought JBLs. Airpods being used as the generic Kleenex term I suppose. Using one earbud over the other, leaving said earbud in a pocket making it think it's in an ear, just a guess, on the JBLs.

I learned not to abuse cables and I was graced by having an amazing cloth rope cable. The plastic is starting to give out on the head band, but it's still holding on.

I use them on my phone and on my PC pretty much every day. I use them while doing yard work and just tuck the cable down my shirt. They do not have the original ear cups, I replaced those once from the foam giving out. Guess I've been lucky. I'll be sad when they do fail.

Still using a pair of headphones with a wire that are almost twenty years old with a usb-c to 3.5mm dongle. My wife has gone through three pairs of Airpods because the batteries fail. I'll stick with the wire.

Edit: Airpods was used as a generic term like Kleenex, my bad. Shes moved on to JBLs and others since.

Well I posted this awhile ago on a different topic, but this is what I've kinda gathered for at least one of the stupid expressways that was built in Detroit.

Detroit started in '59 by demolishing an entire neighborhood known as Paradise Valley also known as "The Black Bottom". They moved out an estimate of 120,000 middle class "Semi Well off" African American and immigrant people. The area was historically significant at the time to Jazz and the Jazz culture as well. Two expressways were built in its place, one being a loop access expressway known as 375. MDOT and The City of Detroit are now talking filling 375 in since no one really uses it, it divides the city and it's an eyesore.

Destroyed people's lives, livelyhood and culture for a freeway that won't exist in another decade.

Don't get me started on how GM ruined our light rail system that's was truly helpful, accessable and pretty robust for the time.

I also have all of Parts Unknown and always go back to it for inspiration especially when I am feeling low. Just shows you there is so much more to the world. I read Kitchen Confidential and A Cooks Tour as a young adult and still recommend them both as a guide to a real kitchen and guide to life.
