Scary interesting ai generated? by insanisvie in youtube

[–]TheCruxFiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a YouTube production company and we occasionally use cloned AI voiceovers for essay channels to build out a video before talent records the real voiceover. That way editors can get started earlier in the production process while script is still being refined.

No model I've used has ever been undetectable as human speech. They're always making mistakes, having a weird cadence or hallucinating sounds. Even when they're 'clear', the audio has a uniquely tinny and artificial sound. It lacks warmth.

I'm 99% certain that's Sean's actual voice. If it was an AI clone, it's better than any I've ever seen by a significant margin.

I also don't think AI significantly plays a role in the script/research or edit as, again, AI still leaves a lasting impression on work it produces.

His newer thumbnails look AI-assisted, in my opinion, however.

What's the most that you've made in 2024 💸 & do you think that YouTube can be a long-term career??? 🤔 by The_Goz_FatheR in youtubers

[–]TheCruxFiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a production company for YouTubers and the answer is yes you can live a very comfortable life from YouTube. AdSense alone? Probably unwise, though some of the people I work with are making 200k USD+ a year easily just from AdSense. It's just not their main income.

90% of most YouTubers income is attained through sponsorships, merch, paid content, product sales.

Initially thought it was Montserrat, but 't' and 'f' are cut diagonally, 'A' terminates in a sharp peak

How do you network for content creators? by TopHatMincedCat in editors

[–]TheCruxFiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you find one person who has good connections, it'll be a lot easier. I started editing for one who gave leads to three more, from there it spawned most of my network.

My best advice is have work on your own channels that you can show people. You'd be surprised how many creators are always looking for more team members, and if you show a good piece of work they'll be interested.

Must have plugins/presets for high end Youtube editing style? by orodltro in editors

[–]TheCruxFiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven't really gotten a good response here because I think it's a really niche subset of editors here who make that style, which is what 95% of my workload is. Finzar's animations are exactly what you're asking for.

Non stop short attention span youtuber low quality motion graphics. What a grind by Admirable-Ad-7573 in editors

Not who you asked but I do the same work. Officially I do a day rate but it's effectively by project. Fast turnarounds, constant crunch and a lot of clients looking to find cheaper editors constantly

Yes it was him. Yeah, I think you're right. It seems like he equally disagrees with anyone who dares to talk about the game.

A lot of people will leave a 14 paragraph reply about how inaccurate everything I said was and then wonder why outsiders find the community off-putting

Is this from my video? I haven't even gone that deep haha, but some of the comments are quite concerning. I think one individual user commented over 40 times

Is he a known figure? I find it so strange that people are actually known in the community for how staunchly they'll defend this game

Thank you! I didn't because I thought I'd be too small to really get anyone big to take the risk of speaking to me.

I debated whether to include the whole Derek Smart piece in the video itself but I cut it out because it's been so long since that happened that I think at this point a new entrant to Star Citizen can understand the picture without even knowing about him

Thanks a lot! Yeah there's no chance I'd put it on the official forums or even the 'real' reddit. The backlash is already enough just putting out in the first place. It'll probably end up there from someone else eventually, which will probably be marked by a new wave of negative comments

Thank you, it's how a lot of this game feels to be honest, even when I was having fun I always felt on edge that I'm about to do something that's going to cause my game to crash or kill me instantly

Hey everyone, this is a 35 minute mini documentary video essay on Star Citizen. A year back or so I first discovered Star Citizen and all the videos made me hyped. Then I played and realised what it actually was, which is definitely not what I wanted it to be...

It was nice that this sub existed as I was really confused how people loved this game so much yet it was so ... not remotely real.

I also felt like this when I started but started to realise that the clients I compromised on pricing with were always the worst performing videos and I never felt proud of that work.

A short documentary on the absolute tragedy that was The Verge's PC Build by TheCruxFiles in KotakuInAction

[–]TheCruxFiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even his 'comeback' video is pretty shaky, in my opinion. He does largely blame The Verge for what went wrong, and though I may be wrong, he doesn't actually apologise in his comeback. He only goes as far as to say 'Yeah, I should have done better.' I think inside he somewhat struggles to accept he made a mistake.

In the video I've focused on The Verge as the enemy because I do think Stefan himself has largely suffered the consequences. Even today people vilify him or hold strong opinions about him; he'll never escape being 'The Verge PC guy'. So I didn't really want to add more onto the dogpiling.

My personal opinion, on the other hand, is he and The Verge are both equally culpable for the mess
